If you have a look what he claimed, he claimed that he was actually a different role that can protect people despite him being neutral. Maybe the Unseen believed that he was not neutral.
But here’s another puzzle. Was that a bluff that eevee was the doc to see if he can survive, or do we have a role that take people’s role cards and swaps people, and the original role card owner does not know about that. If this is the case, we might have a problem then.
Those who have play ONUWW will understand the role I’m desciribing(One Night Ultimate Were Wolf)

Interesting, but for multiple night games the role would need to be tweaked.
If that’s true we are screwed so its a good move by unseen tbh.
Not sure if town would mean just us and not unseen though.

To be fair, maybe it’s the best Fade could come up with without it just being a vanilla citizen.

But if you played the first upick where Orange was also a “vanilla citizen,” he had and ability to skip the night because he was essentially an townie that was vanilla flavoured ice cream

Since the color was not BD, we can assume he was Neutral.
On ToS forums Vanilla Citizen had the ability to hang themself. It’s really not indicative of much.
Fade probably just had this cool idea of a role being anti-NK (which is sick btw) and gave it to the most applicable neutral role. I doubt there is a role swapping role tbh.
I can use my Eye of Agamoto to reverse time to bring him back
