[SFoL] 52 Clash Of Cults - The Blue Dragon are Victorious!

Also smite protects against attacks – not conversion

She was in her town meta at that point.

Yeah fair enough, I just think she’s a low priority convert target imo

It would have been a good convert. I greenchecked and cleansed Hja N3, so they were definitely BD. Cult would have known this based on me revealing my logs prior to N4.

As one last desperate attempt to avoid my myslynch, I offer you all one in-depth look into my logs and an explanation for my character this game:

D1
D1 was a write off for me. In my two other full games that I’ve played, I didn’t meme. I maybe joked around a couple of times, but no more than the average player. This game I decided to try something different. It wasn’t really strategic, as I was just trying to have some fun before we got into the meat of the game, but this caused chaos for me. Despite others meming similar to me, I went further and it caused the majority of players to add me to their scum lists. I recognize my mistakes for this day and I don’t think I will replicate it in another game. As for my action, I chose cleanse because I thought it was likely that both teams of cult would be converting this night.

N1
Not really much to explain here, but I chose Napoleon. It wasn’t because I was scum reading them or anything, but because they were a smart and active player in the last game and I wanted to protect them or find out if they were cult. They would have been a strong cult member, so I didn’t want that to happen. It turned out that I was unable to investigate them this night (Arete claims this), which most likely would have yielded a redcheck on Napolean.

D2/N2
The days are becoming a blur for me, so I had to look up what happened here. Kai did their fake redcheck on me after I claimed Paladin. I had to claim because I said I had a mechanical lead on someone. I asked the mods and they told me that while my Test did not go through on Napoleon, my cleanse still did because it was a day ability. I took a chance and thought this mechanically cleared Napoleon as the chances of them being cult would have been pretty low. This backfired. It made me look bad beccause it wasn’t an actual mechanical clear, I was outed, and Kai took advantage of the situation by saying that I was a redcheck of theirs. This did cause me to put Kai in my scum reads for the remainder of the game, but I didn’t end up testing them. Vulgard was adamant that I should have done this (I agree), but I figured it was too obvious and possibly there was a chance that Italy would have tested me that night or Kai at some point. Kai ended up coming clean and saying it was a fake redcheck, which made me look a little less scummy. I don’t know why Kai pushed so hard on me for this as I had already outed everything when this happened. I didn’t use a day ability here as I thought I would be occupied again and I’d rather have my cleanse go in tandem with a successfull test. Like the same logic above, I chose to test Vulgard. I realize it was more likely at this point for me to get a greencheck than a redcheck on this person, but at the time I didn’t realize how important it was for me to prove myself as a Paladin. I figured finding out who BD were was more important than finding out who one of the 6 possible cult there were.

D3/N3
I wasn’t much of a target this day for any lynch pushes (compared to the other days at least) and I kind of took a back seat and watched/made notes on who I thought was scum/town. This ended up being a really important day for BD as 2 cult from the same team were outed/killed. A few players were acting suspicious of Hja and I thought they were my best target for finding a scum. They were near the top of my scum list. At this point I had also warmed up to the idea of Kai not being cult, so I figured a test on Hja would be the best course of action. Jgoes was also on my scum list, but something they said/did made me put them lower on my list that Hja (I can’t find the post(s) that I’m referring to here, but I can dig for them later. This post is more to give some insight into my thought process throughout the game.) I decided to use cleanse on Hja in the off chance that they were BD. They were BD! So it was confirmed that Hja was a greencheck with no possible way of them being converted that night. I was really happy about this as I thought it would clear me. I think I outed this information D4 after pressure put on me by numerous players, but it didn’t help at all. I may also be getting my D3/D4 mixed up here.

D4/N4
No day action from me here as I am all out of cleanse, but after getting my greencheck on Hja, I had new sights on Magnus. They didn’t seem to help push any of the scum that had been pushed before, and they were pretty quiet. I thought it was very likely that they were the CL, so my test was on them for the night. This test and my N3 test on Hja were both on people that I thought were most likely to be scum. I was wrong about both and they both ended up being BD.

D5
I wrote a little blurb in my logs about today for if you lynch me. It’s just an update on who I think are scum/town based on what has happened today.

Meh tbh I don’t think it’s sus that Ozz didn’t check Kai on N2… and on N3 I honestly assumed that Kai was jailed when making decisions for my own night actions that night. The checks seem okay (Ozz doesn’t tend to check scummier players – he likes to check good players from my experience), the only one that is questionable is his N4 imo, but yeah

Is it weird that when Italy found Derps Cult, they didn’t even vote Derps?

Italy just isn’t very active

They are N4 convert at worst

Not going to try to quote-box it, given how it worked out last time, but:
Smite (Night) - If anyone attacks you tonight, you will kill them. Bypasses night immunity. You will be immune to death and conversion while doing this. - 1 use

So Smite does give conversion immunity, it just doesn’t kill converters, only attackers.

Ozz or Soul is cult based on what Italy says. I don’t think Arete is cult based on D4 unless they were converted N4 and obviously if they were Drunk N4 then they wouldn’t have occupied Italy. So the scum teams are looking like this imo:

Ozz/Kai/Italy

Or

Soul/???/Arete

yeah, actually the first pairing makes the most sense. Still can’t find anyone that would be on a team with Soul since N2.

My theory is that Italy was “occupied” when he actually got a red check, but idk.

I do think Arete was the best convert N4, but yeah.

Thinking about this… I originally thought the members of Corax cult were particularly dumb, but now I think they are very intelligent. I feel like the N1 erad wasn’t due to being stupid, it was due to being smart. That’s just a change of perspective on that issue for me.

Oh I missed the immune to conversion part

I like your explanation of all this, but why don’t you think Soul and Kai are on the same scum team?

Because I am not inherently scum reading Kai, but I think it makes sense if he converted you N2 and you two are on the same team. If he is not on a scum team with you then I am not really scum reading him at all

That makes sense. I disagree with you, but it’s probably because I’ve been suspicious of Kai because of what they did to me D2.

Also I’d like to mention that I did catch something with Mithras cult making associations with each other. They weren’t totally ignoring one another – they shared an agenda (throwing shade at Jake).

Italy wasn’t likely occupied by scum and converted then out they where occupied

would be a really odd play

So you think Kai and Soul are cult?

Italy either is converted and faking a occupied or not converted imo

I’m saying that I think he lied about the occupation if he was converted
