Jailing is a protective effect, especially considering that Merc’s guard / Ice Ward do very similar things and are very commonly seen as protective effects

Thank god town aren’t rereading my slot
I would be fucked

This makes… no sense. Prevention is against everything, including invests, so it’s definitely not a protective effect.

Is Merc guard a protective effect in its identity

Which Merc guard. The “giving deathimmunity merc guard”? Yes that one is.
The “preventing all visits from your target”? Definitely not.

Old (contract) merc had an ability that prevented visits on its contract
This was in order to keep them alive, but also protect them against investigations should they be scum

Y’know, the same thing that happened in LotR, as in wolves directing the discussion based on flimsy mech reasons over reads, is happening here.

Much in a similar way, jail is a protective effect.
It stops kills, but in this case, as a downside, it also stops investigations / heals / etc

I mean, my knowledge is not just an opinion… it is literally how it is.

It’s based off of Jailkeeper, a protective role
Like come on

What is Jailkeeper?

No, it’s incorrect.

Anyone who’s played social deduction games can tell you that preventing visits counts as a protective effect.

roleblocks and protects a player

I don’t play social deduction games. But I know exactly how ToL works.

In this case it’s just roleblock + rolestopper, a traditionally protective effect

The IW/Jail are effectively Asceticizers, which count as protective effects.

ToL is a social deduction game.

based off of Mafia/Werewolf

Why do you use mafia rules then for FoL? That makes no sense at all.
