Iā€™ve already mentioned it somewhere above: I think the theory is curious, but I agree with Nappy that it probably wonā€™t be effective in this case.
If CRichard is groupscum, his partner would probably tell him how to handle it, and I donā€™t see a world where they tell him to put them into his scumleans. Also, by that time he was basically outed ā€“ wasnā€™t he? So heā€™d be self-aware and watch everything he says anyway.
