You can choose any two players of your choosing. They don’t have to be the same every night.
That makes sense, though I do think he is likely town. His behavior after being wagoned is rather town indicative.

I don’t really like what happened here. The pressure died off of Gorta for very poor reasons, such as “he is mechanically confirmed not evil”, when there are several evil roles he could be (MM, NK, even Missionary if Italy is converted, or neutral)
Someone brought up that Gorta/Italy has to be either V/V or W/W, and I disagree with this. People are assuming that because Italy is making a case for this guy, they both have to be village. I don’t really see it, a villager can defend a wolf, or a wolf can defend a villager. If you are reading Italy V, it doesn’t mean that Gorta is V too.
They could be W/W, but I think it’s more likely to be a V/W relationship, Italy’s approach to this scenario doesn’t feel like a scum protecting another scum (he brought up that “he would be defending that slot even if converted” and that “he knows he’s not converted”, which are arguments that I had brought up in NFoL4.
Gorta is still suspicious. The only reason why I think we should be hesitant is because of the tagging system, but the reasoning for the Gorta train dying is not very good logic.
Gorta claims investigator, they are like the 4th or 5th investigator claim, the most suspicious, and we already know them to have been redirected. They aren’t a newbie, and I think they are perfectly capable of faking that they have been “redirected”.
It’s very strange how they decided to come out as an investigator for no reason and then be so reluctant to share further information.
Gorta was literally put at L-1 at my hand… This would be a very very large reaction test if I were serious.
I don’t really trust Intensify either though, their D1 wasn’t anything extraordinary.
I think you need to make up your mind, Alice. Intensify or Cheese, who do you want dead? Because right now, I’m the only one who’s leading the lynch candidates.
I could see a potential W!Italy. Initially I had thought that his first contribution to the game should be seen in a townie light, but if we consider the following, a W!Italy getting rid of Gorta would only secure his own lynch afterwards as that was where the thread seemed to be heading.
A bounty isn’t a check.
Bounties should be used early on. FoL games typically don’t last very long, and Bounty allows us to clear out the PoE faster.
You should explain why you don’t like my slot. I admit that I have put you on the defensive, but you never really voice your opinions about you disliking my slot until after Arete asks you about it.
I’ve been giving you a chance to clear yourself through Italy and you are refusing. I’ve tried putting two and two together but I couldn’t figure it out, no claim here seems to remain consistent with your behavior. I’ve also tried explaining why you should claim - if you are town, scum already know you are an investigative role who wanted to visit Alice, but was debauched to Italy and was disappointed as a result.
You haven’t given me any reason really to believe you are town. Again, I’m not looking for info about Italy to help determine Italy’s role, I’m looking for info about Italy to help determine your role.
Also, we don’t speak of RM4.
So what happened is:
Gorta TLs Italy for his defense of him
Italy defends Gorta on the basis that he’s alive and non-converted - people are TLing him for this, which I can definitely see, as I did it as well, but I don’t think this gives him as much towncred as it should. I think he could be either V or W, there were some things that came up as 
- he seemed pretty confident in Gorta not being wolf and as a wolf, allowing this slot to die just ensures his death after as that was the plan I was pushing for initially.
Alice redirects the lynch off Gorta (I would like to know why @Alice TLs this slot, they mentioned that they felt that Gorta was newb!investigator but I’m not buying it. We know Gorta is not a noob and the redirection was widely known anyways. There are also several other Investigator claims and this one is by far the most suspicious.
SDA/CRich remove their votes after Italy decides not to hammer, I think Arete removes their vote shortly after
Alice votes Intensify, Arete defends that slot.
Clonedcheese votes katze based on their heavy memeing.
Conclusions
I still want to go with a Gorta lynch into an Italy lynch. A lot of what happened here felt hedgey and annoying but not everyone is wolf, obviously. Pretty sure that Arete is still town, and Cloned sort of remains unchanged for me in terms of opinion, though his point on katze is valid in that his insane number of FPSes shouldn’t warrant an easy townlean IMO.
I want to see how Alice responds before I decide to make a conclusion on her.

to be fair if i was converted the most likely scenario here would probably be “gorta is missionary”

I usually use that phrasing when talking about bounties. You can check FoL27 (I know I was a wolf, but I’ve kept the phrasing consistent).
