Why neutral?
I absolutely do not accept SDAās ātownshipā because heās played in multiple FoLs and SFoLs and should know that traditionally there are two evil factions.
Derps does have a strange way of playing. He for all we know was joking about being ignorant about 2 possible scum factions.

Neutrals(from experience) are less likely Derps more nappy. I dont intend to make noot reads and I dont necessarily think Nappy is one, but they go for thread control since they have no allies

I agree that it doesnāt come across as defensive but you arenāt really attacking his alignment in the post heās responding to, as far as I can tell?
Italy is a null read as well. From his posts, it sounds like real life problems are going to interfere with him playing the game.
Iāve got no scum reads and all town/null reads. At this stage Iām probably misclearing at least one wolf as village here.
I think it will depend on how he acts from here on out. There might be a consistency in some of his posting here and later on if heās Cult (which was my second point)
I think clear is a bit strong here but the position heās sorta putting himself in seems subconscious and if thereās a consistency I think itās a good look.
I wouldnāt mind being linked with Arete if thereās a Cult Mystic around.
