The remaining members of the reenactment group prepared to depart, looking warily at each other. Mary’s exile had shaken all of them to the core – though when King Edmond thought about it for a moment, he supposed that many historical figures had condemned others on false evidence.
As they stood around the circle, simultaneously scared to remain and to leave, one person broke the silence.
“It’s over,” said Alice Alard, stepping into the center of the circle. “While you all plotted to kill each other with pseudohistorical weaponry, I sought out techniques that the rest of you would rather pretend don’t exist.”
“What do you mean?” asked King Edmond.
Alice tore off her dress, revealing that underneath she was wearing not historical garments, but blue jeans and a hoodie. Holstered to the jeans was a pistol.
Edmond and Sarah gasped simultaneously. Sarah ran around the circle to stand next to King Edmond.
Alice surveyed the remaining members of the reenactment group. “It’s not too late,” she said. “All you have to do is give up your silly hobby and do something that actually matters. None of you have to die today.”
“Never!” said King Edmond. “It’s my fault that you were able to infiltrate the reenactment group.” He swallowed. “I – I was in charge of processing membership forms. If I had just been more paranoid, this never would have happened.” He looked down at his hands. “And – Ivo Wake’s death is my fault as well. I heard his screams, but by the time I made it to his room, he was already dead.”
“What about you?” Alice said, glancing at Sarah.
“Of course not!” she said. “It’s like Emma said – some things are more important than our lives. She was able to show that to me, just before she died.” She giggled slightly, for a moment, before her somber expression returned. “Besides, if I’m so committed to historical accuracy – everyone who was alive in the middle ages is dead now.”
Thomas stepped forward, not meeting anyone’s eyes. “I accept your offer,” said Thomas."
Sarah and Edmond glanced at each other, then at Thomas. “What?” said Edmond.
“I never wanted this barbaric system in the first place,” said Thomas. “Sending people off to die … we should be better than that! This was a hobby for me, but it was just a hobby. I’m not about to risk my life for it.”
“If you believe that you’re an idiot or a fool!” said Sarah.
Thomas glanced at her, for a moment. “Then perhaps I am a fool. But I’m a fool who will be alive.”
“Very well,” said Alice, smiling slightly at Thomas. She took her pistol and shot Sarah and Edmond. Finally, she turned to Thomas. “Do you need a ride back to town?” she asked.

Alright, Isabel’s heretics were starting Observer, Noble, and Cult Leader. Helen flipped Cabalist, but with Isabel’s death we can confirm that she class-swapped with the Cult Leader as she knew she’d be jailed. With Susan’s logs and Emma being visited by Helen, we can confirm Emma as the N1 convert like I suspected all along. If i am dead, Emma is a confirmed convert and should always be a Prince axe or the yeet for today. Do not ignore this.
I would like to apologize for my decreased activity, I will have things to say about this postgame and I’m as upset about my medical issues and my slanking as you all are.
Also, the Inquisitor I Channeled has been a hell of a lot more helpful than the two dead BD. You two should be ashamed of yourselves tsk tsk.
