…I think it only counts as 1 visit/attack.

I think that if CL Eradicates a Beared Hunter with Acolyte’s Sacrilege, only the Acolyte should die. Otherwise Sacrilege + Bear Companion always results in 2 dead Cults.

If you want to look at it closely, then this is a weird sentence.

It says “If … fails” and not “If … would fail” which means that the deed should be already done, but then it also says “instead” which would imply that the deed hasn’t been done yet.

RAW Fool should die
RAI the “failed kill” kill effect should only proc if they fail to visit their target. Like Mafioso from ToS

Now, RAW makes infinitely more sense in this interaction because it requires a significant logical leap to figure out
