‘Townies dying is inherently bad always’ is basically the textbook example of a mindset that comes from newbie villagers. It’s the same general reason why newbie villagers will often suggest no-lynching the first couple days even though it’s not strategically optimal in most circumstances (barring even-odd numbers type scenarios).
