Town!Maxwell would have already found a way to try and clear himself. From my experience as scum, one of the toughest things to do is responding to people scumreading you on the fly. You need to appear towny while under pressure, and when the other side has good arguments, it gets progressively harder to debunk them.
This results in half-baked, vague, weak rebuttals like Maxwell’s current rebuttal. Some scum players choose to avoid this by shifting the thread focus into people other than themselves. Other scum players try to construct logical and good-sounding responses…
…but they have to stall in order to do that, because doing it on the spot is very difficult. Thank you Maxwell for demonstrating how to stall as cornered scum.
