Havenāt caught on to a whole lot but this is actually 100% spot on. My philosophy on D1 is that it benefits scum to look town more than actual town.
Iāve played enough games to know what happens to me when I get townlocked, and Iāve played enough games as scum to know who my targets would be. Youāre putting a HUGE target on your back when you look town, and thereās little doubt you look town right now.
Why? You canāt rely on town protecting you; I know I couldnāt when I did that as town.

I mean, banking the game on one person being town isnāt something I would be willing to do
If everybody just acted like āhuge targetsā there would be no huge target, instead youāre advocating for a meta where everybody would act as scummy as possible day 1 and scum could sit on their hands and then the town would have to retroactively decide that that scumminess day 1 was just not to get nightkilled/converted and refresh their reads basically from day 2.

Thatd be an ideal world; an ideal world where people could commit their time to this game and make good, thorough reads and make an effort to look town.
This isnāt that world, so townlocks stand out D1.
So here is an example of the ultimate goal of a powerwolf: Draw supports onto them D1. Its funny because I was gonna get to that part and you mentioned it.
A townsfolk will request that but you canāt rely on that. A wolf with that request? Opens other targets.
Conclusion: Powerwolves will powerwolf D1; townsfolk will be mixed in with the nulls and other reads. D1 townies benefit MORE being read scum than town, as you wonāt get killed or converted.
