Do realise that D1 reads are made with limited information. I mean it isn’t as though I’ve read people wrong in FoL/SFoL before.
Like yes, Arete is probably GK but that’s definitely not why. EKs usually try to attract more attention in FoL than HIs, which is the opposite in ToL.
It depends on if EK is going to power wolf or be a silent wolf. If Arete is EK, then he’s going for power wolf. Mind you I haven’t seen Arete as King before so I made my read on Arete and pray I’m correct.
inconveniently I’ve only been King once before outside of turbos, and that game I was neut king (of the flavor that has to survive)
Unless the EK doesn’t care to play. However that’s not the norm and definitely not the norm for Arete
The few (and I do mean few) EKs I’ve played with on this site will go for plays.

Kape was pulling for bad lynches all game and then GTed when he got the opportunity to win it for scum.
Zone in FoL27 was actively trying to disrupt the flow of town.
None of them tried to sit quietly because…there’s no benefit.
Oh and how could I forget Math, who had scum read correctly and was continuously disrupting the flow of the game.
I’m putting Marshal as a null read. He is one of those players whose read you can’t be sure 100% until there is information showing him to be town/mafia.
Im pretty sure that’s true, but its not because Arete is drawing attention. Arete has town-minded logic and while its still early, at the very least its clear they arent building bad narratives for mislynches.
Though upon 2nd thought, I’m leaning towards Marshal being town as he a is a frequent poster as town. I’ve seen this before in previous games when he is town.
as in, he is fully capable of topposting as any alignment, and does it deliberately as scum to exert thread control
