He can be also baiting people which for several people knows it’s not worth it
Why he asks for conversion to be prevented while he use bear trap that won’t get you converted in first place or he hardclaimed cult and is hoping for real Plague Doctor to show up.
The part of conversion wouldn’t make sense for The Carrier unless of course, it’s meant to bait and knows which side he want to take.
