Okay, let me explain this.

If the BD convert hits a villager, we get a confirmed villager.
If the BD convert hits a thief, we get a confirmed thief that we can vote out.
If the BD convert hits the merchant, that’s on the merchant and they deserve to be executed for not outing.
If the BD convert hits the Bureaucrat, then the BD get to remove their main threat that isn’t the Thieves Guild.

There is no downfall no matter who the BD convert hits. Do you all understand?

how is it a cop check on scum? isn’t the result for hitting either a neut or scum the same thing (failed conversion)? so BD wouldn’t know if it hits a neut or scum anyway which is lol.

Bureaucrat already knows who BD is and can easily bait them to convert them
Scum knows who each other are
if we have a scum chief they also know who scum are
so there’s plenty to lose from hitting the wrong target, and there’s an annoyingly high chance of hitting the wrong target to begin with.
