a built-up area with a name, defined boundaries, and local government, that is larger than a village and generally smaller than a city.
because it’s easier to afford a private investigator if you’re part of a crime syndicate
also the game of mafia implies that your life is decided at rand and there is little personal agency
to the point that your life is a game which you can win or lose at rand
if we delve even deeper we can establish that from a mafia standpoint, everyone here is vt

A lot of people need to stay up all night to perform their duties. It’s like they don’t even sleep!

american mafia games should allow you to choose your role or at least alignment pre-game
otherwise it breaks the basic principle of freedom
