Thanatology - Brainstorming and Designing

Yes, yes yes!! This was the main complaint I was going to bring up with even more players and the extra alignment chart making it even more difficult to blend as a lone wolf.

This will likely mean non-American players are just screwed. As others have echo’ed, I’d hope you’d employ a co-host here. I’d basically join based on whether there is one or not likely. (depending on when this would start)

Like, the literal ā€œkill-em-allā€ omnicidal role got killed because they claimed their wincon despite the fact that it literally clashed against everyone else’s wincon.

If this isn’t evidence that this site needs safeclaims then yeah.

The hardest thing about fake claiming open wincons is not knowing anyone elses

I’m actually planning on changing the escape method.

I’m basically going to change the endgame condition to either eight Blood Moons or if nobody else that is still in the game and have not yet escaped/won can win yet.

Which is where the safeclaims come from.

Like, if there’s only the following 4 players alive and 3 Good players have already escaped.

A is Chaotic Evil who won.
B is Lawful Good who needs to prevent all Chaotic Evils from winning and escape.
C is Neutral Good who needs to make sure 4 Good players win and escape before they escape.
D is Lawful Neutral who needs to be elected Leader once to win and hasn’t done it yet. Leader elections need 5 players or more to happen.

A has already won.
B cannot win since A already won.
C cannot win as he needs 1 more good player to escape before escaping.
D cannot win because there are no more Leader elections.

Then the game will be resolved as nobody can win/lose anymore.

Anyway I think overall this looks really fun. Different enough from VLDR and I kind of like the removal of Ambidex since that always ends up being kinda meh, even if Prisoner’s Dilemma is cool

So Bloodmoons are mainly to discourage mindless killing or as a potential last ditch effort to stop others from leaving?

I don’t think fakeclaims should be necessary, but if you want to make them and think they’ll increase the quality of the game then go for it.

bro idek how vldr really worked but seems cool i guess

dont really know enough to say more than that

d&d vldr will be interesting
especially since you removed the sin that is chaotic neutral

That’s a typo. It’s fixed now.

fuck
you’ve just added a second chaotic evil alignment

they technically could have won with like 3 people but also what the fuck

this was optimal tbh

Is this like the Class Trial in DR?

Nope.

At times the Leader can select a player to have an execution vote. If the majority votes yes, then they can be killed without starting a Blood Moon.

It’s supposed to be a system that allows players to get rid of problematic players without bringing an Eight Blood Moon nearer.

Will the conditions for GoG be public knowledge or will it have to be discovered?

Public knowledge.
