The Merchant [Neutral Class]

I am determined to include a balanced Neutral Offensive into the game. The Merchant is focused on delaying the game as long as possible, until Day 8, so that he can sell more stuff and make more money.

Plain Survive Goals are boring.

Merchants can be beneficial and detrimental to both sides as they are able to occupy and prevent visits, preventing Investigative classes from checking players or Physicians from healing bleeding or poisoned players.

However, they are also good for Blue Dragon, as they can prevent visits, meaning prevent conversions and attacks, and the fact that they want the game to be delayed means they do not want people to die.

What would it be if this ability replaced Ransom?

Bribe: (D) (2)
Prevent a player from using Day Abilities for the rest of the day.

Actually, you can get creative. The way to survive is Advertize + Transport

It’s not a semi-brainless half defense like Stoneskin Potion

Done, but I’m pretty sure you’re able to do it yourself if I remember correctly. There should be the option to change the category of a post you’ve made next to the name in the editing panel.

I recall this class having an ability that redirected anyone targeting him to his target like a reverse drunk. I really like that ability and thought it was a creative way to increase survivability. Because Transport should either be unlimited uses or should be what I just mentioned.

What else? This is like, the 4th version of the Merchant I’m pretty sure

Remember. He has an objective in addition to surviving. He should be able to focus on the delaying the game part rather than the survival part (not that he should have permanent night immunity or anything but scorned and inquis are night immune for a reason).

Well then, how about a passive that allows the Merchant to use both day abilities in one day and both night abilities in one night?

And you got any more ideas on delaying the game?

We have

  • Redirection
  • Trial Pardoning
  • Occupation

That wouldn’t help. His issue is survivability.

He needs a defensive ability.

Then what do we do, stick the old night immune once thing?

And Transport is kinda like a defensive ability, or maybe it should just automatically bypass occupation.

We can get more creative than that. Personally I liked the 1 way visitor redirect better than current transport.

Maybe give it 4 uses? That’s as much as stone skin which is a day ability

Occupy a player and prevent all other visits to them.

Would probably help in delaying the game a lot more but first thought against it because it could be too OP, but then again this is a Neutral Offensive
