The problem with "Neuts In" and "Neuts Out"

it’s funny because i’m kind of playing devil’s advocate here since on the spectrum of neuts in and neuts out, i lie closer towards neuts out simply because in most situations killing a neutral is more beneficial than keeping them alive (purely statistically - since most of the time you are BD and most neuts are evil sided)

but the key point here is that it’s most situations, not all

I mean…

Tbh I do consider a lot now from time to time whether I should kill Alchemists, cause I’m finding it very often that they get in my way a lot.

yes but
in a lot of situations you could just be killing people you need to kill to win the game, which are also likely to be people pushing the PoE

in most situations BD will kill an outted scorned, and if the scorned is not outted then it’s much more beneficial for both the scorned and evils to cooperate in killing BD

any competent BD would realise this means a heretic is converted so it is like
even worse to kill inq than to let them kill your heretic

especially since you will have to waste 2 attacks in most situations

Well with this it just becomes wifom hell (are the heretics converted? Is unseen just setting them up?)

ok so you’re saying

cultseen wastes 2 attacks on a neutral who needs to kill 3 BD just to frame them as converted and get them killed when:

  1. they could just let the inq kill them
  2. they could use their 2 wasted attacks to just kill the BD they want to frame and thus gain the favour of the inq

:joy_cat:

When did I say they would

you’re saying it’s wifom
but it’s not
because no one will ever do that

anyway have I expressed at all I actually despise joycat

I mean I could also make the argument that people don’t do nka in ToL

But weh

If inq lost di from something else it can certainly be worth

probably not in usual cases

but if no one claims a defend/coldsteel or wolf on an inq then people will ask the question of why the inq was killed

and then there’s like, only one answer

Anyway I agree killing an inq is like 99% of the time not worth it

So instead I will rejoice at alch having 2 stoneskins now

If Scorned gets the chance to realize someone is suspect, then frame them and push them the following day, then sure Scorned can just attempt to get out baddies. What happens most of the time is that they get someone killed wrongfully and their frames messes with invest results making the BD waste time - that is not in BD’s interest.

In the same position the Mercenary can block invest classes and makes people waste time by occupying them. True their shield is mainly a BD benefit, so I’ll give you that they are inclined toward BD, but not in the same way that say a Sellsword is to Evils or even Inquisitor.

Alchemist’s inclination toward BD is only because BD wants to strong arm alchemists. If a player is bleeding and an Alch is not healing them, then BD is inclined to believe they are aligned with evils and therefore often kill them in the absence of a better target.

I mean sure, Scorned can screw with BD.

But a lot of times, what Scorned does is merely push for the execution of suspects, which Bd should be doing naturally.

From my experience, I’ve almost always accidently killed an evil as Scorned before.

Fair enough. That’s not my general experience with Scorned. Usually they get an innocent killed and then they wait for a suspect to get their second kill or wait for a king opportunity.
