So right now, as it stands, there are 5 Moderators and 7 Developers.
They’re all lovely. Here’s a suggestion that I think would be useful for the future of the Moderation team. This could be done for the Release of Throne of Lies.
Global Moderators:
Obviously, this applies everywhere, and I feel that the current set of Moderators would stay here being that they’re the first and most experienced. They can do everything the other Moderator teams can do but they would be the only type of Moderator to be able to manage things like:
- New Moderators
- In-game Bans+Unbans
- Forum Bans+Unbans
- Discord Bans+Unbans
Forum Moderators:
Forum Moderators would be there to help keep the Forums clean and operating smoothly. A requirement would include: Having a Forum account with at least 100 replies and be a month old, things like that. They would be tasked with moving things to the right area, making sure people are following rules and helping out with Forum Games etc. There power would include:
- Pinning Topics
- Locking/Unlocking Topics
- Moving Topics
- Editting Topics
- Banning from Sections
- Forum Muting a User (Temp - stops them posting)
In-Game Moderators:
These Moderators would operate in-game and would be mandatory to have high experience in how the game works and must show maturity in their behaviour. With this, they will have the power to Banish somebody from the game for a set duration of up to 24 hours, and if things get serious, they can put people forward to the Global Moderators to determine if a Ban is necessary. This would be their power:
- Manage Suspensions (Called: Banishment)
- Manage Reports
- Disband Lobbies
- Be a Game Spectator (If somebody reports while in-game, you are given a direct link to said game - Can watch Live or observe the after game report)
- Can kick somebody from a game (Game is told- Name was kicked by Mod name for reason: reason)
- Is given access to every played game (which deletes them after 10 days unless marked for archive - games with a report in them are kept separate and not deleted unless by Global Mod)
Discord Moderators:
This is a given, these Mods would operate on the Discord. They would need to have been apart of the Discord for at least a Month, have a verified Steam and Twitter on their account AND be a Forum Mod first. They would be given the following power:
- Manage Discord roles
- Manage nicknames (to remove offensive names)
- Kicks from Discord
- Mute users
- Can put forward for someone to be banned by Global Moderators
- Delete replies
- Ban users from a Channel
- Lockdowns
There are a lot of powers that were not listed but I’ve covered the most important areas.
Each area of Throne of Lies might benefit from being managed by different people.
