I did call arete out on this, but they don’t seem to be the kind of person who can fake their meta.
Its too obvious of a scumtell at this point. Arete is doing THE EXACT OPPOSITE of their scumtell. Could this be…awareness?
This is gonna sound crazy, but perhaps we’ve been townreading Arete because…that was the intentional goal?

It could be. I mean, Arete has had the same scumtell for a few games now, so wouldn’t they know what it is by now and try to change it?

Some are, but when half the forum is calling you out on a scumtell…you can easily revise it.

considering i don’t think arete has what it takes arete’s town meta is incredibly harmful to scum and incredibly revealing if done wrong, so it’d be difficult to fake

Also I noticed Arete asked questions instead of really doing anything themselves as scum that game. Though that is not too hard to change.
Marshal looks the same to me. I don’t see an agenda in this or candle I see him convinced someone is scum and pushing them hard.
One odd thing I noticed is Possessed being a lot more meme-y in that game. Here he is a lot more serious. I don’t know his alignment that game though so I can’t draw anything from it
I’m off for the night. Just know I’m actually considering the idea that Arete is Mafia killer here and Marshal had the perfect storm of events occur. Hell…Witch might have even ACTUALLY redirected Arete to Derps on a townread. Bad decision on witch’s part but still.

arete’s town meta is too hard to fake without dealing damage to your team as scum, and too dangerous for scum to pull off

Arete does two specific things as scum that are hard to detect till you actually know they’re scum.
Arete: votes Marshal
Arete: ‘I think Marshal is the best lynch’
Marshal: ‘Arete doesn’t want me lynched’

So currently we have 16 players alive, 5 of which are scum, and it’s 11 v 3 v 1 v 1
If Marshal’s plan works (and we assume he’s Witch and not Mafia) then after today it’s 10 v 3 v 1 v 1
Assuming both kills hit town then it becomes 8 v 3 v 1 v 1
if Marshal then gets lynched it becomes 8 v 3 v 1
and two kills from scum puts it to probably 6 v 3 v 1 which is a very favorable situation for scum to be in
also FWIW I could probably fake my town meta decently well as scum it’s just that if I did that it would make me less effective at playing scum
you don’t win scum games by being townread, you win them by pushing as many mislynches through as you possibly can
