I’m kind of at a loss right now. Arete/Marshal makes my head hurt and I feel like we’re doing something wrong. Tomorrow I kind of just want to ISO everyone.
All this mechanical speculation isn’t helping us in my opinion. There’s too many unknowns and what ifs, and this kind of discussion is easily manipulated by scum.

That’s why I was hoping by now it would be resolved, or at the very least people would move on from trying to solve it mechanically. Because when I would try and check in all I would see are this mafia forum generals making up simulations of the possibilities. I just feel like we get a better chance at finding the mafia if we begin trying to town check and not point fingers through functions

Because I only started thinking Arete is scum when the general opinion somehow shifted from scum meta to town meta

What makes you think Marshal is town?
In all honesty, Marshal feels more scum-like due to his play. Marshal just doesn’t push this hard unless 1. He is close to figuring out the game or, since Arete said Marshal is most likely witch, 2. He has his win condition nearly filled.
The main reason why I don’t vote him is because if he is witch, this is literally the most bizarre move ever in my eyes. He doesn’t get anything major long-term. And that’s what he needs if he wishes to satisfy the win condition for witch.
So Capo didn’t self retrain, so it makes sense they retrained someone else or were performing kill.
Second option is countered by Marshal claim kinda.

Can you just give a couple sentences each on why you read them that way? That’s all I want.
I understand that, but his win condition is nowhere near met when doing this. Marshal likes to play for long-term in my eyes. Doing this just buys mafia some time but is nowhere near beneficial as having him alive if he is witch. Since he could just begin doing this regular Marshal meta and play unpredictably in tactics
I was wondering if Katze might of been self retraining, but no.
So they either killed someone (conflits with Marshal’s claim) or retrained someone else.

Why would they no-action if all mafia have roles. (more useful roles than Katze’s when it comes to countering townies pretty much)
