I just want to live more than one single day in a Umineko game with a cool partner for once in my life 
We’re both to blame for the Stakes heroshot, but I’m the main reason. I figured if LLD was scum we were guaranteed dead in the night, and as such we would only get one chance to vig her. Both of us hard scumread her, both on individual behavior and on her assocs with L&M who we also both did not like. Plus she only ever made serious votes against Hyena from what we could tell, and in fact was the tipping-point voter for them early. There was also a lot of swingy vote movement near EOD; Stakes was part of that. Also, we TR’d dragonfox based on their EOD and therefore we thought the scum were in control. Shawnapoc was in fact on our suspect list. (Yes, yes, we misread badly.)
Based on that evidence & the risk, I made a judgment call. Was it a bad play? Eh. Sure, we could have gone for the easy shot & vigged Quick Quack or the Fox counterwagon. That is indeed the mechanically optimal play. However, no sane town clears LLD d1. Was it a fear shot? Yeah, def. Was I wrong to be that paranoid? Don’t feel that way.
