Incoming ISO on Spak because it’s about time I looked at his slot.
Here's what I got
The first post I thought was worth commenting on is this one. Spak did a non-meta take on Light’s push on Chloe, and I think his reasons make sense on both alignments, but then again, it doesn’t really say much other than that he was leaning slightly toward Light being scum.
This reasoning on Light reinforces that Spak suspects Light as scum. The idea is consistent, but I could also see it as Spak deciding whether he wants to push Light or not, as Light was being kind of widely scumread at that point except by a few.
Here he finally votes Light, and after that he responds to Light’s readlist. I don’t think there’s much in the readlist response worth noting except for one thing:
He agrees with Light’s take on his slot. I understand what he’s saying about his meta, but I feel like this could also be an excuse as to why he’s exclusively been looking at Light’s slot and nobody else’s up to the time of the post, as if he’s trying to find something wrong with it.
I don’t think there was any sort of consensus at all on Appel at that point as I remember seeing some slight townleans, a scumlean or two, and a bunch of nullreads. He does say that he thinks Appel’s case on Marl looks valid because of the discussion sidetracking, but I think that’s a pretty easy thing for anyone to grab onto and say “yeah this looks towny”.
After that post, he doesn’t do much worth noting for a while. He quotes some of Seth’s cat RP posts and yet he doesn’t interact with him at all. He questions Appel’s SR on me, but then question’s Marl’s vote on Appel and also why Marl claims that Light’s push on Chloe makes no sense if Light is scum. To me, Spak seems like he’s very specifically interested in Appel and Light, and I’m over halfway through his ISO at this point which I find worrying. He’s essentially picked one slot he thinks is scum (Light) and one slot he thinks is town (Appel).
He finally drops a gutread on YBW, although I don’t see him interacting with YBW anywhere, either.
This is a decent post. He expresses that the sudden wagon on Derps is a red flag and looks like an easy ML for scum. The one problem I find with this post is that he doesn’t say the same thing at EoD when the wagon suddenly piles onto Gorta, and he even puts his own vote on Gorta while seemingly not knowing what exactly caused people to vote Gorta in the first place.
This post, once again, looks kind of bad to me. He said in the previous post I quoted that he thinks Derps is just an easy target, but that would imply that he thinks Derps is town. Why would you want to shoot someone you think is most likely town? I guess I can see that a night vig wastes less time than a whole day of wagoning and voting someone out, but the end result will always be the same.
In the same post, he says Min is pinging him weirdly and that he’ll look at their slot later. I haven’t seen him post anything yet on Min after that.
For some reason it looks like Spak decided that a Derps yeet is perfectly fine now because it gives information. That matches up with why he would want to night vig Derps, but it doesn’t match up with his initial “there’s something wrong with this wagon” post. Spak then questions why people are voting Gorta, but doesn’t follow it up at all with the same reasoning he used earlier on the Derps wagon having formed too fast.
He states again that he thinks Derps is the best info yeet but that he SRs Light. It looks like he’s ok with either of these options going down, but not specifically that he’s ever SR’d Derps. He questions Light’s sudden BP claim despite being at L-6, and says nothing about Light’s play looks towny, and then suddenly he gives up on those wagons and swaps his vote to Gorta with absolutely no reasoning to go along with it:
It’s got comedic value, but there’s literally nothing that explains why Spak voted Gorta instead of keeping his vote on Light (who he thought was most likely to be scum out of the wagons), or Derps (who he thought was the best info yeet). It’s as if he just votes Gorta to go along with the consensus and grab towncred for it later, and it’s extremely suspicious imo.
I spoilered the ISO, not that it’s very long as Spak has only posted 42 times and went totally MIA since EoD1. But the tl;dr is that I’m putting Spak into my scumreads because GGhana is right.
Spak’s ISO is very weh and he has absolutely nothing going for him in it except his last-second Gorta vote, which was not backed up by any sort of reasoning other than “it’s too late to change the wagons”. Spak seemed hyperfocused on Light for most of the day, focused for a bit on Appel to say she looks towny, then on Derps to say his wagon looked wrong but that he’s also a good info yeet or vig target, and went back to trying to wagon Light at EoD but gave up when not enough people were willing to vote him. He avoids interacting with a lot of slots and never really gives reads on anyone other than Light, Appel and Derps, except for one quick “gutread YBW is town because he’s not coasting” which is the only time he mentions YBW, and after saying that Min seems off, he never comes back to the slot to say anything else about them. All in all, it’s just not a good look.
this is a weird thing to point out
like I don’t see scum ever pointing this out on purpose because that’s just death, and I don’t think a neut would out themselves like that, or at least not an anti-town neut
but I also don’t really know what to do with this information as it’s not what I’d call irrelevant so much as just something that is genuinely puzzling to me (and also to Light)
