the cop learns the name of one player who is a member of the town before the start of the game.

The cop in this set-up gets a N0 peek on a random townie (i.e. they know a random other person is town). Each day, everyone announces a peek from the previous night, so that scum doesn’t know for sure who the cop is and when the real cop dies we’ll know who their peek is

and this game doesn’t have logs so we have to find another way of communicating that without outing the cop.

This also means that if scum don’t kill the cop their target’s peeks are still >>rand town because scum needs to kill the cop before they can lock the game and therefore will only kill people with accurate peeks under most circumstances

Why are you pushing for the cop to reveal? It is not in the best interest of the town for the cop to reveal while they have no information since that puts a target on their back.
