Alice was one of the driving forces behind the Merc lynch yesterday, and could pretty easily have been “convinced” and switched to James (who in the W!Alice world is town). Alice is distance-y but I don’t think she’s ‘busses-D1-in-this-set-up’ distancey. If you all lynch me today James should be next.
Now why do I think it was Arete?
Besides her scummy actions yesterday, I do not think that James nor RedSea kills DatBird last night. These players would have killed me, or maybe Alice.
The only players I see 100% picking up on Dat’s JOAT soft are me, Alice and Arete, possibly Hja or Set.
And since Arete’s interaction with Merc yesterday was downright awful Arete is the scum. If Arete somehow isn’t scum then I think it would be Alice. Funniest thing is I was reading Alice as the JOAT yesterday because of how reserved she was until she got into the argument with Hja.
James didn’t need to pick up on the JoaT soft, Merc picking up on it and posting it in scumchat before her lynch would’ve been enough.
Why do you think Merc herself never voted nor pushed James yesterday?
I do not like that you consistently tried to shift the lynch off of Merc, onto LHF no less. Why did you try and do it?
First you tried to shift it onto Set, then onto James.
It feels like you were trying to fish for a shift off of your scumbuddy, Set wouldn’t work because of me but James definitely would.
Because I thought James was more likely to flip scum. By EoD yesterday (but before the JoaT claim) I was pretty convinced that both or neither were scum, as I said, but James was slightly more likely to be scum if it was somehow a TvS interaction because him not self-presing onto Merc could in theory be explained by his inactivity, while there was no reason for W!Merc not to self-pres onto V!James.
I remember you making a similar play while scum in LotR. Something along the lines of “If you mislynch me, lynch this guy”.
And yeah, as Luxy said, you’re very shifty.
You told her not to push onto James so you could push the mislynch tomorrow.
Also, wolf move 101 is ‘yeah my scummate is scummy but this guy is scummier so lynch them first’ which you did with Set.
…Except that doing that would nearly guarantee a loss, as you/Alice/Set/Hja are more or less unmislynchable at this point, which means it’s more or less impossible for the sole remaining wolf to win.

Day 4
You vs Hja and Set both of whom you could easily convince if you had to. (Especially Set given his inexperience).
Like you’ve already been setting up for endgaming by doubting my townread on Set the entirety of yesterday.
Except that you made it very clear you thought Merc and I were a team, which means that if Merc gets lynched I’d basically never endgame in the world where I’m scum.
(And at this point I’m confident Set is town.)
The amount of times my reads get ignored after I die N1 on this site is astounding.
James should pretty much be lock-town now.
Pretty sure the last wolf is in Hja/Arete
…how??
Dat’s obvious crumbing here that he jailed James last night. James can’t be the last wolf as Dat was killed while he got JK’d.
Agreed.
I can’t really narrow it down further since Hja confuses me.
/unvote
That … makes a lot of sense, and now I’m confused because there aren’t any other teams that really make sense to me. Like, ‘Dat changed his mind about who to jailkeep because he didn’t think anyone would pick up on the crumbing’ makes more sense to me than scenarios where James isn’t scum.
