reading is not my strong suit

i saw “getting out of it” and assumed you meant result

my intent with the first was to start conversion and see if anyone had any interesting stories (and because nobody else had asked the question and it’s a bit of a staple in most games)
my intent with the second was to, again, gauge how to read the players i didnt know

you said you preferred designing setups and that you don’t play too much

with that in mind i imagine you’re a player who knows a decent bit of mafia theory and enough experience playing to read like a complete newbie

i do intend on reading your posts to gauge your actual skill level but that’s about where my starting point is, which your posting has supported for the most part

multiple of those people i townread aren’t strong reads, but if i go through the entire playerlist and still lack scumreads i’d obviously question the accuracy of my reads

Apologies, i’ve been busy today and most of my free time has been used trying to keep up with the thread. Things seem nasty right now, so before I go, I want to remind everybody to please, please take a break if you do not feel happy. Playing Forum Mafia in a sour mood never makes things good, and it makes everyone feel worse if a few people are arguing in a way that involves personal attacks.

I won’t lie. Going into this, I was fully expecting that I’d still be scumreading him at the end of the ISO but as much as I hate to admit it, after ISOing him, he has a lot of posts I doubt come from a wolf, so Centuries is likely town. I wouldn’t put him into a towncore just yet though.

This large post feels rather genuine, and shows progression on Centuries, rather than the tunnel they seemed to be in earlier. I appreciate that they are open to re-evaluation.
Leafia, does your townread on Centuries affect your read on Wiisp at all?

I will note that all of these are townreads, which is mildly suspicious. It’d be more natural if you had at least one scumread in here.

Truthfully, I didn’t notice that these were all townreads. I do believe that this is because katze is going down the list of people who have posted, no? Regardless, having them finish their thoughts later would be good.

I read up on most of the lower posters and these are my conclusions. They are a bit rushed, because I’d prefer to case more people individually then making this more elaborate and ended up spending too much time and I’m getting a bit tired. Please ask me for clarification on something you’d disagree with. I addressed most of these people all my posts.

He pops in with an opener asking to talk to people, and as soon as he’s confronted with it, he just freezes up!

He pops back in with reads instead, but as I said earlier, I do not think his reasoning on the two people he claimed to townread actually match up when he looks at other slots, and it’s more likely the reads are faked!

Okay so I read a bit and I think I really like elephas and flameo so far.

not sure what the beef is with mole but I do see him being kinda antaonistic with leafia. Leafia feels like town here off of first impression.

These two posts in particular ping me as towny. Feels like you’ve got a good idea of what needs to get done and trying to do it–sort of vibe.

Elephas looks like he’s trying to do the work, but with just a bit more defensiveness (a normal level, not hyper-defensive)

I confronted him on this, and in an attempt to understand his mindset, asked for his read on me. The hope was that his mindset would match up but he says that he did not notice it to the “same degree” with me. It just feels like super blanket-level statements and I have serious doubts that his original reads were real at all.

This is not OMGUS. I am not mafia-reading him for not townreading me. I am mafia-reading him because he should have noticed after reading my ISO my level of proactivity. I honestly would expect him to do that but instead he stands firm on his original stance and says he didn’t notice it the same degree.

It’s not conclusive hard evidence, but this kind of rigidity makes me think he cares more about blending in and justifying reads than actually making any!

I would like people’s thoughts on this. I will respond to some of Elephas’s posts because they seem to be putting out some reads and logic that i’m interested in following and analysing.

I would like to add on to this and say that both of the town-reads Ash gave me were well… me and Elephas that I townread. Of those, they only substantially elaborated on me. It reeked of pocketing.

This post is a large motivation of my vote. I am excited to see, where their further promised read post will go, but this was not a great entry and I don’t think their explanation helped much.
