I’ve noticed them. My gut’s calling them v but honestly I really don’t feel it.

I feel like… these are different from the others. Ici calls Hja easy town and basically spews me as town by hardpushing me the moment he comes into the thread. But with Geyde… he’s really friendly for some reason, I don’t know why. He’s not pocketing here, it feels like a calm, nice discussion over a cup of tea. TvS? It’s… weird. I have no idea what it means for Geyde’s alignment, they were just surprisingly friendly with each other and I don’t know what to think about it. I think I brought this up before.

Randomly scrolling through the thread brought me to this gem of a post. This is what we call a badly-written long post. I think this post is reasonbly wolfy, and this may sound like I’m being a caricature of myself here, but I think this post is wolfy because it’s badly written and full of weird inconsistent sentences that scan awfully.

The way that this sentence structure prevails throughout feels like Maxi’s points don’t have any real substance (join up the dots to why this makes him a wolf) so he’s repeating the same point through his head and phrasing it slightly differently- this has the bizarre effect of making a post where Maxi repeats himself look hedgy because he’s constantly considering strange scenarios no person actually could.

Look at the bit about Geyde and see my point. He’s basically saying the same thing throughout, but the way it’s phrased makes it look like he’s going back and forth in a hedgy manner, and I think that’s a result of Maxi trying to attatch credence to a very shaky point.

tl;dr - post hedgy due to lack of substance, reasonably wolfy, might lynch later

I get that he might be trying to pocket here, but his interactions with Geyde feel like they are both at the same level of information. I can’t really explain it well, but look at their interactions from the prism of ‘they are both scum.’ Then you will probably see what I mean. This certain relaxation in thread, this calm discussion about who is read how, this decisionmaking about who should be the lynch.

Like, I can’t be the only one who notices that he starts using the “thread control” buzzword in a game where the guy with the most posts loves tempo reads and talks about the thread as a whole has the most posts.

It feels like Maxi was just trying to use the “coolest” term to talk about Geyde to talk about how he dosen’t like how much influence he as and to shadethrow him away from that position.

Adding to that it’s the most basic Level 1 sentiment ever created, and put all of that together (Maxi using a level 3 term to describe a level 1 sentiment is wolfy btw) I think we can safely say that Maxi is… a wolf!

I take it back, honestly. He did backtrack on the Maxi scumread before, but then he came back to it after voting me for some time. I think he was trying to pick between potential mislynches and pushes. I wasn’t easy to mislynch, so he selected the easier target.

And he insists on not taking a stance while simultaneously shutting down my argument that Geyde might be scum. So… Ici has not decided one way or the other, but when I say Geyde is scum, he shuts that down?
I don’t think Ici does that kind of thing to town Geyde. He could just say Geyde is a townlean if Geyde is town. Here, he is just defending him despite not having a strong read on him. It feels like TMI and I’m not sure if he’s defending town or scum. I feel like he wouldn’t really need to defend town!Geyde though. Me scumreading a town would be good for Ici, so why did he shut that down?

I wouldn’t put it past Ici to distance with eevee here, but that’s just a suspicion and not a true read. As much as eevee’s playstyle infuriates me he can’t really be called scum based on any interaction with Ici.

I’m not saying we only ever lynch inactives; that’s counterproductive. But D1 it’s worth far more to lynch somebody in the Magnus/Jake/Maxi range because they won’t die otherwise.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is exactly one scum in the Magnus/Jake/Maxi group based on this and Ici was just trying to get us to lynch outside of that scum. Since I don’t think it’s Maxi, it’s a toss-up between Magnus and Jake (and Magnus did that hilarious slip Arete caught him on, so yeah).

Okay, re: Jake.

As mentioned, policy already weights Jake lynch pretty high in the lynch pool simply because, may I remind you, if he is not lynched before LyLo his vote may decide the game , but I agree that “lul he’s a bad player policy lynch him” is a bad idea.

When I say Jake is hard to read, I mean it more in the sense that his utter lack of content and the shallowness of the content present makes it hard to analyse him in any depth, and thus essentially the only way to read him is to subject yourself to the nightmare pits of meta.

Look at Paint. In that game, he still posts a lot of short fluffposty comments that have a semblance of content surrounding them, but one key thing is missing: Those weird semi-content multiple post thingies that appear both here and in SFoL00. I think those are his tell; they’re an attempt to create substance through length but TMI prevents the creation of actual substance.

the only problem is that relying on such tells as this is horrible, because with a player as weird and almost esoteric in thought as Jake that meta could shift and become totally wrong. So yes, I read Jake w, but I also say he is hard to read, and that does factor in why I support his lynch. Not just because we need a lynch, and not just because he’s bad.

Because he’s bad and I think there’s good reason to think he’s a wolf.

He probably voted town here, I’m pretty sure. This kinda leaves Magnus!scum in my opinion because of the grouping Ici created before. I know I did that a lot as scum, it’s a clever way to set up mislynches.

So in the end:

Maximus is probably town (small possibility of a bus/really hard distancing)
Jake is probably town
Magnus is probably scum
Geyde is… yeah, call me a confbiased person but Ici’s interactions with him make me think Geyde could be scum. I know he’s pushing Magnus who I also think might be scum but that wouldn’t be a bad move to go to endgame considering that mafia didn’t have a great start.
