I suspect that newcomers to forum mafia/werewolf games are given town/village or equivalent uninformed minority to start with. Once they get experience, then they may roll either group scum or neutral killer.

That is not how it works

Alignments are assigned at random, I was scum in my second game and Italy was scum in his first

That would not happen. alignments and classes are done completely randomly regardless of alignment.

so I had this whole great idea of looking at the mid-day votecounts (since eevee’s vote shows that scum weren’t trying to save Amelia by EoD) but it turns out that I’m really tired (who could possibly have predicted this) so my analysis is going to be somewhat lazy

I pulled VCs up to when eevee voted Amelia For Real since that’s the point when scum had definitely given up on saving her, and started from the point when Amelia was a somewhat viable wagon

also Vulgard gets to be green because poison

From an initial glance:

  • soolit is looking a lot better, her vote on Amelia could have, if placed on Derps instead, almost certainly swung the wagons the other way, and way back up at the top she could have turned Derps into the de facto lynch and chose not to (also the interaction I found when looking through her Iso earlier, when she got upset that her voting Amelia was making people leave the wagon, didn’t really feel W/W)
  • {Hippo/Squid/Alice} almost certainly contains 1-2 scum if I think wolves were making any effort to save Amelia whatsoever
  • I should probably take another look at Itay, I semi-cleared him D1 but by PoE we’re kind of running out of places for scum to be and he’s the least townie of the non-voters
