[VFM] Town vs Bandits - Day 5 (4/13) - Bandits Win!

Wolves usually force themselves to have some kind of weak progression but she just did a full 180

Eli feels mildly wolfy as well. Nothing to do with his gimmick, really, just with his content.

I might be thinking this because Iā€™m accustomed to Eli becoming obvious town within his first 50 posts, and Iā€™m not seeing that here so far.

Ye the gimmick felt really forced

she prefers playing town by a mile and finds it very hard to post and stay motivated as a wolf

iā€™m not sure how much i buy this, especially since you didnā€™t explain why it being chloe specifically that made warning people about postcounts AI. if you were overplaying it, i think you would have made some attempt to actually answer this to make it seem real so peoplesā€™ reactions to it were genuine, thus getting the game off to a meaningful start

he is taking stances but theyā€™re typically consensus
iā€™m not sure if the fact that no one is trying to read into any of his specific takes actually means anything for his alignment. iā€™m guilty of this myself but a lot of his posts are being shrugged off as ā€œgood but not villageryā€. if he were a wolf here i think itā€™d be quite easy for his partners to throw some cheap townreads on him for this content because it is objectively ā€œgoodā€, but iā€™m not really seeing that. this doesnā€™t mean much if wolves are in lowposters, but itā€™s something to consider

the way marl was agreeing with vulgard here yet clearly not actually reading the post reads as a pocket attempt to me but this is probably a stupid read
confbias is one hell of a drug

my stance on eli is that his villagery tunneling/conviction and backtracks are there but his independent solving isnā€™t, if that makes sense

his reads have been pretty lackluster, like his chloe wallpost was a lot of ā€œi agreeā€ and not saying much for her alignment, but his villagery fire is still kind of there?

itā€™s a weird situation and iā€™m paranoid because itā€™s possible eli randed wolf halfway through his metamorphosis into becoming a stronger wolf, so only half of his game has improved

LMAO
youā€™re not wrong i only read the first sentence and typed that
tbf it was as i was walking up the stairs and getting into my apartment though so i was only half paying attention

what did you think was wrong with the gimmick anyway

i feel like thatā€™s not really the problem i have with him

no he isnt

actually digest what heā€™s saying

often if you stop and think about it, he often gives either no opinion or an opinion thats so mixed its nearly useless

that isnt ā€œgiving consensus readsā€ thats just giving vapid reads, which is wolfy

usually when someone does a gimmick like this itā€™s like

fun?
but seems equally annoying to do as it is to read
which is why it feels forced

i see what you mean but i think itā€™s because he isnā€™t familiar with a lot of people here so when he asks for meta on them or stuff like ā€œdoes x normally do this as town?ā€ it reads more like hedge/indecisiveness but in actual fact it may just be him trying to grasp a more comprehensive picture

one thing i will say though is that he doesnā€™t really do much with the answers to these questions, mainly just acknowledging them. maybe heā€™s keeping more of a mental note, but i think as a villager he would have made the effect of these answers more poignant in his reads, but it doesnā€™t really look like theyā€™ve had much influence on them. so itā€™s possible these questions were just made for the purposes of posturing and looking interactive to make up for his lackluster opener.

okay but every gimmick is forced because you have to be doing it deliberately
are you saying heā€™s doing it so he can hide being wolfy or what?

this has literally nothing to do with meta

in the exampleā€™s iā€™ve given most of his reads arent much to do with meta

thank you arctic for catching up

not sure

when i read them myself i thought the main source of hedge was coming from the way he asked ā€œā€¦but iā€™m not sure if X does this as a villagerā€ and stuff to that effect

bruh

yeah this goes beyond hedging

it feels more likely a deliberate attempt to stay neutral on everything

particularly when he doesnā€™t really do much with the answers to stuff like that too
meh

i kinda want to real time with the guy to see whatā€™s up with that
