I don’t know Vulgard’s proclivities that well, but I think you bring up a decent point that he may be more apt to “phone it in” a little bit more likely as a villager than a wolf.

Couple reasons why:

• He’s stated a couple of times that he prefers wolfing rather than villaging
• He got pretty disheartened at the endgame of Ciconia when everyone was kinda memeing on him about him directing the lunch to three townies

This is pretty hard for me to put myself in the shoes of because I vastly prefer villaging to wolfing, but I can see a world where Vulg gets a v role PM and then goes “damn, I was hoping to rand wolf in this playerlist”.

This is why i thought vulgard might be a villager
there were other reasons which i can’t really say

The fact that he slid her in as town here makes me think that he’s either being dishonest about his reads, or he’s so confident in me/will/Eli wolf that he thinks everyone else is town - which I don’t believe to be the case.

it was clearly a guess a yolo guess at the scumteam so he’d have everyone else as villagers

i thought this was pretty obvious since he had literal 0 posters in his reads too but neither you nor marl thought to point that out so i’m worried marl and you might be trying to latch onto something here that isn’t real

if both of these are wolves it kind of makes sense with the narrative that marl remained neutral on proph until they were getting heat and then townread them for pretty bad reasons, i think

it’s villagery because if you were a wolf i don’t think you’d have thought it meant something especially if chloe is a villager. i think it shows you had an inherent inclination to solving someone by perceiving their posts as AI even when they may not be

just because vulgard wouldn’t want to put a single mate into the w category to intentionally avoid the rule of threes

pretty much treats me a wolf from here on out

it bothers me that marl so easily changed his initial townread on me and pretty much treated me like outed mafia from that point forward. he started the game townreading me, then seemingly followed thread consensus (for the most part) as he switched the read around

it looks like he decided to wolfread me because he noticed that his townread on me was anti-consensus and i was a viable misyeet option for him - why deprive himself of that, right?

marl’s only real reasoning for changing his read on me was:

• the fact he seemingly liked proph’s suspicion of me a lot (he praises proph several times when he talks about my slot);
• he also disliked my handling of gghana (even though my handling of gghana was pretty much thread consensus at the time, so i wasn’t doing anything out of place)
• my handling of eli (which was literally a single throwaway comment i haven’t done anything with ever since)

he also compares my treatment of eli to leafia’s treatment of eli, which is a suspicious preflip. he’s not really pushing leafia/vulgard worlds, but he’s putting us in the same basket regardless, so it feels more like shade than a genuine solving process

him doubling down on pushing me after i started pushing on windward feels like something between a chainsaw and trying to keep me in the poe after i started posting better

Particularly from the interactions around ~posts 500-600, I’m thinking there’s one wolf in Vulgard/Prophylaxis. I read a chunk of posts where they were both wolfreading each other and it didn’t look partnered to me.

not sure how much of that is her not tryharding from the start, but i feel like even if i assume she’s not tryharding, her takes generally line up with what the thread believes

it’s also the case later on, when she moves me further and further down the readlist and she flips on emilia as well

i get the sense she’s trying to get herself integrated into the main solving squad rather than pursuing her own pet tunnels/wolfreads

and yes, the worldbuilding surrounding my slot and proph exists, but that wasn’t even her original idea, it was gghana’s

It feels like this could be a Vulgard/Prophylaxis/WWA world where Vulgard/Prophylaxis double bus themselves and WWA is trying to preemptively make the other one’s position in the thread look better SoD2.

specifically this is something i really hate
especially since alice has gone on record claiming her reads get much worse when she starts preflipping people and tunneling
which is what she’s doing here, and she doesn’t seem overly concerned about it

when i questioned her about it, she told me her vote wasn’t on me and that she wasn’t tunneling me, she was voting wwa instead
which is true but doesn’t really assuage my concerns, it doesn’t magically make the worldbuilding she did not exist

these also make me feel better about vulgard
and actually worse about alice
i think the way he described she’s trying to get into the solving group more than push her own reads is accurate and not something i noticed before, but i actually kind of follow this

her content is underwhelming and i expect more from her
it’s particularly lacking in a deeper analysis of posts on a micro level which is usually how i find her as a villager

but i think i can attribute this to her missing the start of the game and not being able to get a solid grasp of the thread due to her position

i think her weird thing with gghana and the way she’s repeatedly done stuff like “i was waiting to see how X reacted to me also doing Y” is stuff i’ve only seen her do as a villager

Before closely scrutinizing, I have cursory townreads on Chloe, SPF, Proph. Stronger townreads on Arctic and Leafia – pretty much maintaining the reasoning from when I originally made the read. Arctic and Leafia’s later posting also didn’t strike me as wolfy.

Chloe/SPF are pretty much a “depth of thought” read. Yes, I do respect their wolfgames. But no, I don’t think that should stop me from townreading them, when I believe their depth of thought and angles of consideration represent a TMI-less perspective.

Proph is me wanting to assume he’s town until proven otherwise, because like he said, we’ve wanted to play a game together for a while.

I don’t know why the mobile forum is so fucked up for me now that I can’t minimize this post draft to see the rest of the thread but eh

I went back to find the posts I wanted to point out as to why I didn’t think Vul/Proph were partnered and saw this post that I wanted to comment on too but now it’s stuck as the only thing on my screen lol

What I wanted to say about this specifically was that I didn’t remember this post until I found it now, and that I want to follow Vulgard’s progression on his Proph read to see whether it’s logical. Give me a couple minutes to refresh the page cause I think it’s glitching on me.
