It felt like you were trying to force behavior that didnât come naturally and it felt really forced⌠I can draw quite a few specifics if you want me to.
And you didnât naturally come to me as the usual V!Vulgard.
Most of this is Vulgard!fluffposting and you can tell. While it might be NAI for other players, this is very AI for you Vulgard. Itâs trying to look productive but you arenât actually saying or doing anything meaningful (except for the last one maybe).
You play much better than this as town and you are much more analytical. Here, your analysis is very limited.
I took this post as NAI.
See if you compare this to your Town games, you are mostly doing analysis yourself and comparing and contrasting, but youâre just asking questions here to show you are productive. It sticks out.
And this joke ⌠idk⌠it just felt forced out. It seemed to me like, âoh Iâm being pressured, I need to find some joke to respond withâ
To summarize, youâre pretty good as a Villager and you make it obvious that you are one. This means itâs difficult to play wolf because it means that if you donât like up to your villager game, you will get wolfread as you did in this game.
I think the issue is that you are too self-conscious. It seems like your mindset here is that, âoh i need to appear townâ and then later on âill pursue my agendaâ, instead of your villager mindset which is moreso of, âi need to analyze and evaluate to find villagers and the wolvesâ, which in doing so, you make yourself look villager. You were trying to look villager and it showed. A villager Vulgard doesnât try to look villager, they just look villager.
Itâs funny, I might not be an experienced or very skilled FM player, but I realized that almost every player is in the position to give advice.
Your playstyle is usually one of a leadership role and I think with some refinement you can play a very effective powerwolf. Take a look at Virtuous II, where you were town initially and when you were converted, you were able to convert your progress you made as town and actually play an effective powerwolf as it seemed to flow better with you objectively. Some people suspected you were converted, but you werenât overall seen in a scummy light.
Here is what I recommend. When the game starts, try to forget you are a wolf and play in your villager mindset (do this early-mid D1). Convince yourself that you are a villager if you need to. This way, you can establish yourself as a villager early on in the game. Donât be afraid to read your wolves as scum if you pick something suspicious from them. Donât be afraid to read your wolves as town either or even towncore them. Just be natural and read and analyze as you usually would.
With a strong start, then you can pursue your agenda. By this time, youâve probably created a village and a PoE that developed naturally. That PoE will probably have some wolves and some villagers in it so donât worry too much about it. If possible, try to let villagers slip into that PoE, and perhaps let some wolves rise out of it. You donât have to do this though, youâll probably end up with some villagers in the PoE.
Then push them. If needed you can amplify the scumminess of a thing that popped out to you. Donât forget to apply some pressure to wolves as well though as a scumread with no push can look wolfy. But with several scumreads, you can steer lynches towards the wolfy villagers and get them lynched. Or you can bus wolves if you want and need to give yourself towncred which could allow you to further powerwolf.
You are a skilled player and once you correct your early game a W!Vulgard will be a force to be reckoned with.
nothing works when I wolf
what I can do as wolf is take advantage of an already good position but getting there is a struggle
which is why Iâm an excellent convert but bad starting wolf
pocketing doesnât have to be âWow letâs be best freinds foreverâ
it can be as simple as taking someones side on an argument or publicly expressing your feelings on a stance that you know they have
did this relentlessly with arete in poisonous (all of those fake mindmelds and âugh le wolves be slanking amiriteâ) and iâd say i did pretty well.
