AND THATS PRETTY MUCH IT.

My hate of fool stems from the fact it punishes BD for doing the technically correct thing:Lynching scummy people. The fool is not BD therefore it should not be treated as a mislynch in the technical sense, but it instead punishes BD for using their brains and not relying on night results. Mow the perfect counter to fool would to be just use night results, those are never wrong…right? WRONG the fool has a self frame ability that gives it a free win if checked pretty much. So lets go over my problems so far

  1. It punishes BD for a technically correct action
  2. You can’t rely on your invests to make sure it isn’t fool

But you might say “But…BUut Noz, you can just be csd by knightt and its fun to playy!”
The fool can hide, reducing CS’s effectiveness to ZERO and I pose this to you, is it fun for the other 12~ non scums to waste 2~3 days of lynching and doing absolutely nothing? Fool doesn’t take skill at all it just takes you being able to breath pretty much

Unfortunately in typical game in ToL it wouldn’t work well without him.

Fool is one of the classes that keeps in check things like VFR or random accusation from Sheriff/Paladin Day 2.

It really depends on what kind a situation you’re talking about. Like in game where people are just acting dumb you would called them scumy the after lynch they usually flips town.

Right now, there is nothing we can do about it. :man_shrugging:

I have to agree on that point. Fool and Jester-like classes are some of the most notorious bastard roles as they pretty much punish the uninformed majority for playing correctly. Thing is we need the Fool and by extension the Scorned as otherwise this brings too much infallibility for Sheriffs and Paladins. Without them, it would be extremely difficult, if not downright impossible, for Unseen or Cult members to weasel their way out when found.

I like Fool. I know it’s kinda bullshit but if you remove all the mechanics that are kinda bullshit the game would way be less fun. ToL is not supposed to be some mega try-hard intense game - it’s meant to be fun.

In it’s current state Fool is honestly needed to help give evils a chance.

HOWEVER

I do think the self-frame ability and hide ability are both complete bullshit. If Prince is dead it is insanely difficult for BD to get rid of a Fool even if he is incredibly obvious and playing badly. And fool really does not need deceive as it makes it incredibly easy to act suspicious during the day, self-frame, and bingo! Both allow Fools to play incredibly sloppily and still win.

Neither of these abilities existed pre-launch and Fool did just fine. I’d give him a bus-driver or something instead.

imo if the fool couldnt control his night results, and the effect of his lynch was changed i would like it a lot

1.If a neut is lynched (can care less if it’s a NK) everyone automatically loses except neuts

Fool needs those abilities. Neut sympathisers mean fool can’t get executed by virtue of being neut and not being proactive.
