Fair enough, I get that. Which is why a calm message outlining the situation as soon as you were aware the night would be delayed would go a long way to curbing prods. Anyone prodding you afterwards would be a jerk. Anyway, I’ve said what I wanted to, hope you have free time this weekend
I hadn’t checked that other thread. My bad. Her point remains valid though. FoL is entirely voluntary and the mods doing it do it for fun. If it slows down for a few days and doesn’t change from night to day fast enough, go do something else for a while and wait.
You’re missing the point. It’s not the delay that’s a problem, it’s the attitude of we are unreasonable to ask when the new day will start
All I see is someone trying to publicly shame a mod into doing something when they have said they were busy. But whatever.
His title is “with the greatest respect” he is not trying to shame anyone with anything, just bringing up some reasonable points which were on a lot of people’s minds who were actually in the FoL were talking about. Don’t be rude and try start drama where there isn’t any.
That’s like saying “as long as I say “with all due respect” its not rude.” This matter is resolved though it seems.
it reminds me of “i’m not racist but…”
Did you not find the post linked passive aggressive? I did. Now, maybe people are bugging excessively, but that response felt directed at me. It’s not unreasonable to ask when a game will resume when there is no information available.
People have IRL things going on, and it could be extremely serious.
A virtual game on the forums is nothing you should be worried about. Yes, it does lower activity levels but all you need to do is Ping Everyone anyways. I always log onto the forums every day and I aint even in a forum game.
Honestly I think this is something that was blown up way too much. Yes it is a bit disappointing for some players, but you have to respect other’s time. I’m going to leave it here unless I am needed to post, otherwise I am not posting anymore.
Jammy is host
She can do what she want
Personally I’m fine with long nights so long as they don’t last too long and aren’t a regular feauture.
Also any sentence that starts with ‘No offense’ ‘I’m not being racist but’ and ‘With the greatest respect’ will turn out to be shit 90% of the time imo
Could it be phrased better? Possibly, but it contained all the information, she is busy, she will get to it when she has time, asking her will not speed it up, and that it will likely be this weekend. We are not robots, we have lives and things going on. Fun takes a back seat to real life, always.
There’s nothing sadder than complaining about having to wait a few days extra for someone to continue a forum game/roleplay because the person who runs it has been extra busy lately.
Be patient kids.
Mole has said multiple times now that wasn’t his issue, it was more the accusatory tone - inquiring about a forum games delay is perfectly reasonable.
Ruby said she would get to it this weekend, this matter is resolved.
Leaving an official response here:
RL > Forum games.
However, yes, it would’ve been nice if something was said or got someone else to do it.
However (part II), we also don’t know if Jammy couldn’t appoint someone else (much like forgetting someone’s birthday and ditching all your time for them, or random sickness or if you forgot to do something important).
Any of these guys could have been DM’d instead of posting this if you already know who to contact. Worst case scenario, message me – I’ve started a day before when someone else was occupied. Then, if you say greatest respect in a DM, I would totally believe you (even Jammy would have, too).
All in all, no one should ever call out a mod or dev (or even a player) like this in a public fashion, esp if you haven’t tried to DM before. If anything, a dev should’ve been DM’d if you’ve already tried to private message. While I may have been able to assist you if private messaged (and already tried to message Jammy), I cannot after a post like this.
