but they are, afaik
this is a simulation and our memories have been wiped
our abilities have been designed for the purpose of this simulation
it’s not like Marl can control the weather out in the real world, but he can in here. I think that’s a pretty telling sign.
there is no way to discern whether the findings of this ‘research’ would be due to our personality or due to the abilities/environment in the simulation unless our disposition is controlled
it’s a test on the basis of human nature
our memories have been wiped, but we don’t know how much else has changed
yeah imagine someone controlling the weather irl outside of a simulation environment
not happening
i’m
not talking about the abilities, obviously that was changed
i’m talking about peoples’ personalities and values that can also affect how likely they are to kill
the point is that you can’t establish whether any findings in the research are due to the simulation environment or individual disposition unless we have been given completely new personalities which are controlled
oh ok ok
personalities weren’t changed
only abilities and stats from what I gather
I don’t think it’s a controlled test in the first place, considering the simulation is kind of broken and people are dying in here
it has to be a test environment with no control group
plus if the blacksmith died in here before we agreed to this, I think that says something about the ethics of the way it was set up in the first place. If it’s possible to make a mistake that gets an admin killed, it’s not a safe simulation, but someone blatantly disregarded it and ran it anyway (and probably didn’t put in the description that the blacksmith died lol).
What if I told you we aren’t really here and this is all a virtual environment? Think like VR but more realistic and involving all the senses. We’re sitting in a chair somewhere with our brains wired in to a simulator and being fed intravenously while hooked up. We’re doing all the things in here so that they feel and look physically real, but they’re just in our heads, in a shared “dream” world. That’s why rooms and things like trees/rocks can appear or disappear at any moment, and things can change.
The problem with the simulation is that somehow, people are getting locked into the test environment and just never waking up (what happened to the blacksmith), possibly also as a result of being killed in the simulator. It’s like it’s erasing their data/memory and they can’t wake up from it so they die while hooked up to the simulation machine.
Don’t ask how I came up with any of this lol, it’s something I gave a lot of thought to for a couple days but didn’t really consider it an actual possibility until today.
is this literally just dangan 2
I’ve only played DR 1 so idk lol
and got the president killed
if they even were the president and the talent wasn’t just made up
Ultimate shining sensation
also hi people
she doesn’t actually have that list but thank you
oh you uh missed a lot
I feel like the other thing with this test environment is that we don’t really face consequences in the traditional sense
we get absolutely nothing for burning down the game room
but we get a punishment/reward system for things like killing (intrinsic reward is that you have less of a chance to die in the chapter), getting away with murder (escaping the sim maybe), outing the murderer (backstabbing to avoid punishment), games of “chance” that are actually a motive or reasoning test (roulette)… there’s a lot in here that was planned to a degree, but human nature isn’t planned.
we choose whether to take the bullet or pass it to someone else like a hot potato (trading, plague)
we have choices in this game but the question is how we’re making those choices and at what cost
also you’re male right
damn if only she wasn’t the literal sacrifice round 2
Eguchi Mitsui, Ultimate Shining Sensation
and are you male or female
