0.9.8 Patch Notes

General:

  • Removed day abilities from the Court Wizard, Nightwatch, Sage, and Observer.
  • Fixed the positions of players during the day.
  • The voting panel is now disabled during executions, and players that are possibly in the way are moved.
  • Added new BD Offensive class the Drunk and their converted class the Alcoholic. Portrait still being worked on.

Alcoholic:

  • Has Royal Blood passive.
  • Two night abilities:
  • Debauchery - Get in a player’s way, causing them to target you. Infinite uses.
  • Hangover - Make a player unable to talk or hear what others say the next day. 2 uses.

Herbalist:

  • Defile reduced to 2 uses.

Drunk:

  • Has Royal Blood passive.
  • Two night abilities:
  • Debauchery - Get in a player’s way, causing them to target you. Infinite uses.
  • Happy Hour - Party with a player, preventing them from being converted. 2 uses.

Fool:

  • Trollbox is now usable during trials.

Possessor:

  • Possessor has been revamped.
  • Possess is now a single target ability. You will now take over a person’s body, leaving your old one behind. The old body will keep the class and journal you had before.
  • Your first victim will appear as a Possessor to everyone. The next victim’s class will appear as the first victim’s class.
  • If you are investigated, you will appear as a Possessor.

Reaper:

  • Can now resurrect through all deaths at night except for Prince. Previously the Knight’s Sacrifice and a couple other abilities could prevent this.

Scorned:

  • Now has to get only one of his targets formally executed while alive to win. A target dying at night does not count. Can no longer start with a Unseen/Cult member as a target.
  • Bait & Switch removed.
  • Added Trollbox. Has 2 uses.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed Scout bug.
  • Some others.

Alcoholic?

I love the Scorned changes even though I believe it will now be too easy to win as Scorned. Before it was too difficult, now it is slightly too easy I would imagine. We’ll have to see how it plays out. Troll Box makes so much more sense for the Scorned to have than the Fool.

I’m not sure what the Drunk is supposed to do for BD. Both of his abilities are extremely disruptive to BD. I’m sorry, but I would never use these abilities in game. Debauchery is only good for baiting a killer to kill yourself and write it in your journal of who you targeted, but you may accidentally frame another BD if the killer decided to target you anyway. Happy Hour could keep a BD player completely out of the loop or even hanged for being quiet. It also gives evils a reason to stay silent and be confused about what is going on. You could theoretically get an evil killed by Happy Hour’ing them to draw suspicion and an execute on them, but if you’re suspicious of them you should probably just type it out to the town. This class feels like an evil role to me.

The Alcoholic makes total sense because its abilities are very disruptive. The same abilities for a Drunk make no sense to myself, but maybe I’ll be proven wrong when the changes go live. I like that they are both royal blood. Pretty funny.

Whoops Drunk’s Happy Hour is different.

I saw that edit

Bos, why you do this to me? xD

Okay, that is a really cool ability.

Possessor change why? This seems more like a new role than a change tbh. Will another old Possessor-like NK be added?

Because the Possessor never won.

I know, and the change looks cool, but are we going to maybe see another static, SK-like NK? Or is that just dead?

We’ll see

There are no roles here.

It’s a Class.

Yeah yeah

I do NOT like removing Pants on Fire/Dark Rune. CW was weak enough. Rest is good, I think

Is the Drunk’s portrait glorious or not?

Yes

So not exclusively Blue Dragon?
That means that the Scorned could have Fool as target?
Or Reaper(who doesnt need a Scorned on his back)?
Or another Scorned?
Or the Possessor, which would mean that the Scorned could identify him as he changes bodies, and freely accuse him?
And if a target is converted and executed, does it still count?

What happens if the Possessor targets the King and does possess?

Yeah, I probably need to exclude neutrals. If someone gets converted the execution still counts.

If the Possessor targets the King, then they’ll appear as the King until they possess someone else. (Hopefully)

Can you give the Scorned a suicide passive if all its targets are killed and they didnt win?
I dunno if you should exclude all neutrals, but Reaper Possessor Fool and Scorned, no. Alch and Merc are a different story…
I mean there is also a downside to this: If the Scorned wins, they know that the other targets were good at the beginning, which means that they won’t be MM, Assassin,(if you change)Reaper, Possessor or Fool…

That’s a fair point tbh
