Read them. Reading is a standard feature in a mafia game.
That’s not a good counterplay though the occupy/target change is a better counterplay
It makes mercs auto exe’d
Who cares if they claim or not, all I care about is them living
The fool still has Counterplay. The only BD killer it can stop has unlimited attacks and can just keep swinging at you.
The problem is that spacific method of Counterplay is too easy and random.
“Hi I’m your Merc. Tell me who to vote and I’ll let you know when I’m guarding”
And then it doesn’t matter as long as they don’t accuse you.
Hide was great
King exe got rekt by Hide
Hunter gets rekt by Hide
Lul hi contract
Some people are hard to read though. I once tricked the entire cult into thinking I was alchemist when I was actually physician.
Alright, but the old hide still prevented against all forms of attacks. This only prevents attacks that don’t bypass death immunity.
That’s exactly what I’m trying to say. The old hide prevented against more types of attacks. The current one only prevents knight, assassin, and CL.
Hi
Fair enough imo since it removes it’s counterplay
Soo… All but 4 of them (not counting frenzy, Execution nightshade or rapture because it bypasses hide too)
It protects against:
Assassinate/2 for 1
Erraticate
Cold steel
Reap (not empowered)
Emerald Potion
Ruthless Efficiency
Magic missile
Puppet Strings/Possess
And Killer Guards.
He can be killed by:
Frenzy
Happy hour + attack
Empower Reap
Order execute
Wolf (on a delay)
Execution (Prince)
Of the second list old hide did not save you from:
Execution (Prince)
And Frenzy
HH + attack really is hard for BD to pull off
Frenzy/Empower would never be YOLOed on a fool.
That leaves just Order Exe and Wolf. Not a very big Nerf here.
NERFING D; worst nightmare
I do not like this. I feel that this now allows for king to order execution on the fool when it would be prevented and not work. The fool should be able to escape order and exe be voted the next day. This will significantly decrease fool wins in my opinion. Although some may say that the fool prevent is bad because of people knowing if prevented then they are fool, overall this is a negative change to fool. Players should be able to use there own skill to avoid the statement “oh I was prevented and you were not jailed you must be fool”. Through claiming a sage wall of fired you or a hunter put up a trap on the door this takes away a key social deduction skill from players which should not be the intended goal.
I heavily agree with this change. The reason behind this is that if you are a knight and you are debauched by a drunk you die because you cannot kill a fellow BD member. (I thought this needed to be changed but did not create a forum post) Same thing will a court wizard swap, invoker redirect or other redirect actions.
Very good change. This takes away from the N1 smite meta where the paladins have a 4/15 chance of killing the cult leader. And then we have the mercenary …
I dislike this change. The one reason I do not like this change is because of the prince. The prince can execute a mercenary’s target and the mercenary cannot do anything about it. I feel like this is ridiculous because how can you play a game where you have NO control whether or not your target is executed. I understand that you want mercenaries to be loyal to their OG target but this is a flawed method. The mercenary can do nothing about this and if the prince exes their target they auto lose. There is 2 situations that could happen that I think of that could cause the mercenary to lose. One is a merc getting an Unseen/Cult as a target and the prince jails and exes them, which causes the merc to lose. The second is the merc’s target is BD and the prince exes a BD. These 2 situation show how the merc has no control when jailed whether or not the prince exes them. What I propose, is that the mercenary contracts a second target, but once their first target dies they will lose all the charges to their abilities. This causes mercenaries to use their charges on the first target before they die and recieve a second target with nothing. Furthermore, this allows the mercenary to have some room if the first target gets exed by a prince. 2 times is unlikely but happens and if your target gets exed 2 times tough luck.
I do not like this because we do not need more targets that the unseen and cult are not able to convert. I understand some mercenaries get frustrated but this causes more social deduction between the target and the merc and the BD.
This is necessary if you have 1 target.
This would have to make them not able to be voted up the same day like decide fate pardon, but this will also cause the target to be jailed which leads to the same problems as mentioned above.
Creates more social deduction which is nice. So good change. Probs going to see more merc claims.
Understandable if you are only going to have 1 target, but I like my solution to the problem really good.
You know if Prince EXE counts as targeting the jailed player then the Merc could just prevent it like everything else or at least take the Prince down with him using rebound.
This would work because Stand Guard doesn’t actually target anyone so Prevention doesn’t really apply.
Just give them a second target but they cannot use any abilities. Fixes the problem easy. Makes them want to use their abilities before their first target dies.
That’s the main reason for it though. Most players will just leave fools to the prince or king.
Or just make it so they can choose their first target.
Choosing the first target is not the right path. It makes merc more confirmable and it makes it pretty easy to win with too.
Pss
Did you do your name?
Maybe if Merc is convert immune, then maybe Stand Guard shouldn’t give notifications
It doesnt
Also I’m with others, Merc having redirect immunity is fine, but she should still be occable
Oh but regardless, Merc should still be occable, although not redirectible
