1.1.3 Patch Notes

Honestly this play was exceedingly common back in the day and people were generally more loyal than you’d expect (at least until evils completely outnumber BD)

What about a… Neutral King?

Oh. I’m anknowlegded of that however i’m not so sure if i would say about the players today.

You’re late

I don’t like it.
It’s bad enough that they removed neutral king from the game, at least let us have him in those rare cases

Players adapt to the mechanics. Players aren’t like that because the mechanics took the mutually beneficial reward off the table. If you put the mutually beneficial option back on the table, players will very quickly return to using mutually beneficial plays.

If I would be popular then obviously that’s the case.

The Good
The MVP system is nothing short of awesome. I see a lot more people staying, even after dying. Games have regained some much needed impact. This also is a really nice single-game-only proxy for a ranking system. I actually think this is even better than a ranked system, which could become more of a grind. Now it is a ranking just for a single game: 10/10.

I also really like the Knight change. It may take some time for people to adjust. For the next few days, BD might suffer from this, but it makes Knights have to CS to prove way less in the future I guess.

The Bad
I’m not sold on the whole Mercenary / Sellsword idea. At all. They don’t feel like real neuts as their goal is so aligned with a faction. I honestly liked the convertable Merc with 2 contracts far better than anything that followed. It had it’s problems, yes, but there we far better and less drastic solutions I feel.

The Sheriff I’m not sure about, leaning towards not liking it, because the day ability takes more time logging it than it actually gives usable info. Seems like a hassle. The second night ability I don’t like at all. It’s an upgraded investigation, which Sheriff really didn’t need.

The Plea
With the MVP system implemented, one more request to bring back a nerfed form of speak with the dead. People are staying more now so they can participate in endgame scoring, so this also makes such interaction more feasible again.

Mystic suggestion:

  • Make Mystic unique
  • Remove Link Minds
  • Give Conduit 5 uses
  • Change (or clarify?) Private Matter: … hidden from the public (including from Nobles using Maid Spy).
  • Add night-time ability: Séance (3 uses): Select any BD member that died this game. He/she will get a selection of 3 premade ‘deathnotes’ to show the mystic. This selection of 3 will be from a collection of 20+ premade deathnotes. The dead BD member can show one or none of those 3 deathnotes. These notes won’t include numbers or texts, just drawings to interpret. If a dead BD member is targeted more than once, he/she gets a new set of 3 options to pick from each time. Yes, I know this suggestion is a stretch from a programming stance, but it would make communicating with the dead possible but less powerful and completely unique. This suggestion is inspired by the Mysterium board game btw. As a general quality of life measure: Upon dead, a BD member will be informed whether or not there is at least one Mystic active. (So he knows he can safely leave if there is none active)

Ow… one more plea… Can you fix the Rune of Focus animation? It is weirdly broken for me at least (beam just ends somewhere midair)

How about they become Fool when they get elected? I think it’s a very good idea because Fool is the best class in ToL.

Not even Mad king? Just fool?

I mean it would be obvious if it was fool with no finger lol

No dead interaction.

It would be a clarify. PM hides from spy. It might already be in the description.

Just… no. Your replacements aren’t even good.

It isn’t in the description. It just says: Hidden from the public, that doesn’t indicate Noble in particular.

When you state something as a fact, some arguments would be nice.

My favourite thing about this update so far…

YEWWWWWWWW commence ultimate stop hitting yourself
