5 problems in the game in version 1.1.2b

I guess I’m pretty experienced player who has 500+ hours of game time. I just would like to post my opinion about current state of the game. In my opinion there are 5 things that are not good (not healthy) for the game.

  1. Alch claims D1 work too good.

Killing classes (evil and NK) do not want to waste a night for an attempt to kill alch claim. Also BDs usually check him if he is not occ immune and support class and then just let him live for the rest of the game.

  1. Jailing/occupying Assasins and CL is OP.

As soon as BD team finds Assasin or CL which can happen even in N1 they can just jail/occupy him for 3 nights and after that execute making Cult or Unseen team completely useless for 3 nights while investigative BD classes search for NK and other evil members and rest of BDs confirm each other.

  1. Mercs are usually contracted to evil and neutral classes.

That means that Merc can’t claim Merc to BD team (if he is smart). Otherwise his contract usually should be just executed cause it’s just logically correct: BDs have high chance to get MM or CL together with thier Merc by doing that.
As Nobles have Spy skill Mercs cannot even claim Merc to their own target. This puts Mercs in a position when all teams (BD, evil and NK) are against them since all teams consider them as non-ally cause they do not know who is thier contract.
I think it’s not the way it’s gotta be.

  1. NK aka Possessor/Reaper/Sorcerer has too low chance to win the game.

This makes playing them not that fun and I see many players who almost give up when playing them by making very weak claims or just leaving the game at start.
It’s hard to say what can be changed in order to achieve balance. Maybe make Neutral King spawn sometimes who is allied to NK?

  1. It’s very hard to distinguish cult classes from BD classes.

Is it Butler/Drunk or invoker? Is it Cw or Ritualist? Is it Seeker or Princess? In most of scenarios the only way to understand who is who is just to random execute them and see the result. Of course, there are some differences between these classes that can make you unserstand who is who like Butler can Party unlike Invoker, Princess has Royal Blood unlike Seeker, but that’s not enough.

When 3 of 4 cult members can have 100% legit logs and be immune/not immune to occupation/target changing as BD classes + losing CL is not important cause another cult member will become CL - I think it is a problem. Game should not end in random executing. Unseen games have great balance of that unlike cult games.

Actualy in practice it’s more like 1-2 cultists with good logs. Apostle cannot reliably claim any of his previous classes and converted classes may have a class they can always fake but it’s often not the one they already claimed. Converted observer or Hunter for example.

That’s why there’s a timer on that, you can also still kill people using bleeding/poison, if you really want it to be nerfed then make them occupation/redirection immune the 2nd time they get occupied

I think they are reworking merc btw so I don’t think it will be a problem

They really don’t…, and that’s there point.

Winrates were this in a couple of patches I think

16% Sorc

10% Reaper

7% Possessor

I’m sure they have became even higher

Especially sorc because of it’s new new magic circle buff

Having a neutral king allied with the NK would just be too swingy and add a lot of spawn restrictions like if there’s a sorc and it would just be too complex tbh

That’s not really a problem like @Firelitten said, also I think it’s the opposite way around tbh

They’re usually executed from what I’ve seen.

I agree that prince could use a small nerf(it shouldn’t have occupation immunity), but occupation is fine. Butler needs a buff, not a nerf.

I agree that it’s too weighted. It should depend on what the starting king is(higher chance of BD if good king, higher chance of cult/unseen if evil).

Agreed. Possessor and reaper need buffs and sorcerer and inquisitor need a complete rework.

That’s the point of conversion though. It prevents players from being easily confirmed.

The prince is not going to be nerfed at any point cause he can only jail someone 3 times and execute 3 times if he exes bd he losses all of the exes

Btw im speaking from boslofs answer when i asked why prince is occ immune

I really don’t get why HH can’t bypass it though. It just feels like an inconsistency.

That’s not enough. Execute still has no counterplay. Prince shouldn’t be occupation immune. At the very least happy hour should work. It doesn’t make sense that it doesn’t. Happy hour removes immunities.

Happy hour is (or at least should be) only used on suspicious players. And there’s nothing wrong with prince being able to be harmed by their own team. All abilities need a downside

Not true actualy. Powerful Ability’s often need downsides or weaknesses but not all Ability’s do. For example every Investigative Ability has 0 downsides what so ever because they are always better off than if they did nothing.

Other Ability’s such as heal and barrier are almost always good too.
