if i remember rightly the logic was that she had mentioned a conversation with another parent, something that could only happen outside, and given my mother is a very well-prepared person and the trip was not unexpected, that would mean she prepared by wearing at least a coat. then, based on the presumed length of the conversation, a mere coat would not be enough to keep her warm, so she was also wearing a scarf
this was a correct assumption
i then tried to triangulate her exact position based on random things she’d tell me, which was less successful since she was not in a location my assumptions worked with
