jeff is king of the joycats

the joycats live in joycat village on joyisland on the planet joycat

so jeff is a tyrant, and he demands that a joycat be sacrificed every month in his honour

how will the joycats survive

Oh right, magic.

Around 10% people on this world can use magic called “Breathing”.

And since this magic is only way to input oxygen to your organism, this 10% of people are “working class” or even “slaves” doing all things necessary for species to exist, while remaining 90% are mostly laying still, trying to preserve the oxygen which they were born with.

You do use less oxygen if you sleep.
That’s something simlar - extreame inactivity to live longer.

After all oxygen is something which is killing us the most.
