That’d still mean that a large portion of the time scum should actively lurk as the optimal play. How is that engaging in social deduction? Also the same counts for town roles that don’t want to be day ability read. A hunter bleed can be bled read the same way.
For me, I’d much rather be the person defending myself, then the person choosing. It’s like choosing between 100 million dollars and nothing. Either you guess right and feel overjoyed, or you feel terrible.
I’m not caring much for harmless angleshooting. I care for cheating and angleshooting cases where it’s blatant cheating. But if a newbie says something slightly angleshooty, I’m not gonna punish them for it. 1. The knowledge about that’s that a rule is missing 2. the malicious intent is missing
It becomes WIFOM. There isn’t really a defined optimal play to it.
Then it’s WIFOM again. I don’t know why trying to hide something as town is so horrifying that it needs to be against the rules trying to find it. Currently with this angleshooting rule scum can just decide that person X is the hunter that they think bled on that time, but there is no proof that’s how they found them. They can just say that’s how they think in scumchat but can’t say why? Why is that a thing? No discussion can be held thanks to the rule.
I will 100% mention when I got bled… I won’t say the exact time, but I will say with which in-thread post it happened.

I agree that you shouldnt punish newbies to the point in which banning them unless it breaks integrity, but there still should be warnings. A warning is not banning people, it simply hey theres this rule, please try to refraim from it.

I won’t let myself stop from fear that something could be angleshooty. I’ll say that Arete has their finals, and I’ll say that Italy loves Knights in ToL.

You’re acting as if it’s no difference in effort for scum to delay bleeds. It’s not. It’s not super well known prequeuing is a thing either. They will choose the path of least resistance, if so possible, making day ability timing reading not useless. That will then incentivize some players to actually prequeue them to avoid that, effectively just jumping through mechanical hoops that inconvenience their lives just to use their abilities. I think that this balance will always remain to a majority of players not delaying their day actions, so this leads to scum that tries hard to put in effort into something like this instead of appearing natural in thread, keeping their associations clean, pushing a mislynch. Those are the interesting pure things in social deduction to me. So yes, I think it shouldn’t be banned and I have never banned this in my games. Duly correct me if I’m wrong, but I definitely wouldn’t mind if it would be. You’re really making me want to actively scramble day ability activation timing like this (of course with mentioning this in OP).

imo if i was the host that be borderline. Now if Arete said that it be fine if you bring it up later. But if its out of game and you brought it up first its using stuff thats not in game. Like its not breaking integrity but its not like something Priestess in game should know. You kinda just gotta seperate urself from outside influence when talking in thread. Its like a court case you cant pull suprise evidence to court. Everything has to be brought in beforehand
What if I mention it during Mystic link with Priestess, and then she brings it up in game? What if Priestess is the Priest, she revives me, and she brings it up in game? For the second example, does it matter if I mentioned it in dead chat before being revived?
