Angleshooting in Forum Games

Yeah, lets go to the actual games instead of going deep into the history or psychology.

What kind of rules are good working for some stuff like angleshooting. That’s the question what matters.

Don’t do it because it’s a dick move
done

what shall I not do? How can I explain it to a newbie?

It do be like that tho, just has more edge cases since lulforum
Just as a note, I do like how you’re willing to be super open with takes

I’m going to study law and I can already tell you that American law is a hive of extremely specific wording and misery

Pretend that you’re actually within the reality of the game, within a strange court case. You can’t say “oh look a stabby stab happened while he was there online” because in the fiction of the game you didn’t notice him leave to do the stabby stab, and he never arrived and then left to do the stabby stab.

Also, if the host is having conversations with the player, don’t go and read the host to see if they’re talking to them like that person is a villager or a wolf.

Hey, at least you’re not in British law, where we literally don’t have a fucking constitution

In my opinion:

Rules should be as defined as possible.
There will always be edge cases, and when they are, we make edge rules (acting like the United States’ Supreme Court)
Edge rules help make better rules, although we might change edge rules if we determine their ruling to either not apply, or to be bad. (Not necessarily wrong, just bad)

So people trying to make new laws is a D&D campaign worth of derailment?

It generally dosen’t show up until people start not playing by the unwritten rules, at which point we’re now stuck with the nightmarish problem of trying to legally prove that an action was unconstitutional in a country without a constitution when it was very clearly an action made in bad faith.

i prefer case law as it allows the hosts personal wiggle room.

i generally take no shit so i dont wanna be bound by forgiving rules

same way as a forgiving host wouldnt want rules that are too harsh

need to strike a fine balance imo

So what you’re saying is that forum needs a constitution
