Bastard Anniversary Mafia - Marluxion The Occultist wins!

It’s been a year since I joined the forums, and to celebrate I will be hosting my first bastard game!

Game is over, Marluxion won. Second place was RagnaroekIV. Third place was Isaac_Gonzales.

The bastard mechanic was that everyone was a neutral killer and all flips were fake. Last player standing won.

The Entertainer

Neutral Killer
No, thanks! (Passive) - Players attempting to give you one of your own Exploding Presents will open it themselves instead.
Birthday Present (Day) - Give someone a present. Said player can choose to open the present or give it to someone else, forcing them to open it. The present includes one of the following random effects: get healed tonight, become immune to occupation and redirection tonight, gain a 1-shot killing ability, have an extra vote for the rest of the day or prevent all visits. You will gain 1 use of “Double Presents!” when using this ability - Unlimited uses.
Exploding Present (Day) - Give someone a present. Said player can choose to open the present or give it to someone else, forcing them to open it. Whoever opens it will start bleeding and die the next day if not healed. - Unlimited uses.
Magic Trick (Night) - Swap yourself with another player for the night. - Unlimited uses.
Double Presents! (Night) - Attack a player and give yourself a “Birthday Present” at the beginning of the next day. - 0 uses.

Guest info: You know that the Waiter’s “Surprise!” has a 50% chance to give the player that opens them one of the following: Get healed tonight, become immune to occupation and redirection tonight, gain a 1-shot killing ability, have an extra vote for the rest of the day or prevent all visits. It also has a 50% chance to make them bleed.


The Leprechaun

Neutral Killer
Lucky 7 (Passive) - Start the game with 7 different random limited-use abilities. At least 1 of said abilities will be a killing ability. They will have a single use.
Good luck charm (Passive) - You can use up to three different abilities each day/night cycle. (For example, you can use 1 day ability and 2 night abilities, or 3 day abilities and 0 night abilities, etc).
Reroll! (Night) - Reroll all of your random abilities for new random abilities. At east 1 of said abilities will be a killing ability. They will have a single use. - Unlimited uses.
Pot of Gold (Night) - You have a 20% chance to get a special ability that you can’t get with Reroll!. You can use “Pot of Gold” multiple times per night. (Reroll! will not reroll said ability. You can only get 1 ability with Pot of Gold, and getting a new one will replace the old one) - Unlimited uses.
Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that may stand in your way.

Guest info: You know that the salesman’s “Bullet Proof Vest” has a 30% chance of giving the player one-time death immunity and a 70% chance of not working.


The Elite

Neutral Killer
VIP (Passive) - At the beginning of the game, you may choose one of the following night abilities:

  • Kill a player bypassing healing, death immunity, occupation, redirection and visit prevention. You will get 2 tokens when killing a player. - Unlimited uses, 1-day cooldown.
  • Kill up to two players. You will get 1 token for each player you kill. - Unlimited uses, 1-day cooldown.
  • Kill a player. You will get 3 tokens if you successfully kill your target. - Unlimited uses, 1-day cooldown.

Place your bets! (Passive) - You will get tokens when killing a player. You can use as many “Bet” abilities as you want, as long as you have enough tokens.
Safe Bet (Day) - You will heal yourself tonight. - Unlimited uses, costs 0 tokens to use, the price increases by 1 token each time you use this ability.
Normal Bet (Day)- A target of your choice will be occupied tonight. Can be used multiple times per day. - Unlimited uses, costs 1 token to use.
Risky Bet (Day)- Kill a player in plain daylight. You won’t get any tokens for the kill. - Unlimited uses, costs 4 tokens to use.
Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that may stand in your way.

Guest info: You know that the Soldier’s “Who’s There?” ability will also kill the Soldier.


The Cheater

Neutral Killer
Ace under the Sleeve (Passive) - You start the game with 2 “Special Tokens”.
Cheating Death (Passive) - If you would die at night by any means, you will lose 1 Special Token instead.
Desperate Bid (Day) - Reveal your class to the court and prevent them from voting you today. - Costs 1 Special Token.
Russian Roulette (Night) - Select a player, if they die tonight or tomorrow during the day you will gain 1 “Special Token”. (This ability doesn’t count as a visit and it cannot be prevented or redirected in any way). - Unlimited uses.
All-in (Night) - Attack a number of players equal to your special tokens + 1. - Unlimited uses, costs all your special tokens. You may use this at 0 tokens to kill 1 player.
Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that may stand in your way.

Guest info: You know that the Ninja’s Ambush only works if the player submits their action within the last 5 hours before the night ends.


The Count

Neutral Killer.
Bribe (Passive) - You will prevent the first 4 abilities that would affect you (whether good or bad).
Tyranny (Day) - Reveal yourself as a “Corrupt Mayor” but you will lose your passive - 1 use.
Fate decided (Day) - Kill a player in plain daylight. - 1 use.
Sow Discord (Night) - Select a player. If they are executed tomorrow they will appear as a class of your choice and you will be able to write fake logs, and you will gain 1 use of “Fate decided” - Unlimited uses.
Political Backlash (Night) - Select two players. If the first one would be executed on trial, the second one will die instead. Can target yourself (this isn’t affected by “Bribe”). - 2 uses.
Your goal is to defeat the main factions and any neutrals that dare stand in your way.

Guest info: You know that when the Mayor’s reveals, any town members that visit him will attack him instead of performing their normal night action.


The Shaman

Neutral Killer
Pact (Passive) - At the beginning of the game, select between 0 and 4 nights (example: night 2, night 4 and night 5). You will prevent all visits on yourself on those nights, but Voodoo Ritual and Voodoo Curse will lose 1 use for every night you picked.
Soul Link (Day) - Select two players. If one of them dies during the next night, the other will commit suicide (suicide can be healed and won’t kill death immune players). - Unlimited uses.
Voodoo Curse (Day) - Make a player believe they were poisoned. - 4 uses
The Evil Eye (Night) - Select a player. Any one trying to heal them (including self heals) will attack them instead, and anyone trying to attack them will heal them. - Unlimited uses.
Voodoo Ritual (Night) - Force a player to target another. You can force them to target you or themselves. - 5 uses.
Your goal is to defeat the main factions and any neutrals that dare stand in your way.

Guest info: You know that the wizard’s Hocus Pocus will cause a random effect on the target. The available effect are: Heal, Occupy, Kill, Prevent votes for the next day and killing their visitors.


The Evil Twin

Neutral Killer. Always spawns with The Good Twin
Special Bond (Passive) - You and your twin can communicate at night. If your twin dies at night, his killer will be revealed to you.
The Evil Gene (Passive) - You are immune to death at night as long as your twin lives.
Slash (Night) - Kill a player. - Unlimited uses.
Psycho protector (Night) - Heal your twin tonight. Everyone that visits your twin tonight will die. - 2 uses.
Your goal is to defeat the main factions and any neutrals that stand in your way.

Guest info: You and your twin know that the Bodyguard’s Veteran Shooter ability will attack a random target.


The Good Twin

Neutral, Offensive. Always spawns with The Evil Twin.
Special Bond (Passive) - You and your twin can communicate at night. If your twin dies, you die as well.
The Good Gene (Passive) - You are immune to occupation and redirection. If you die, you will appear as a class of your choice.
Distract (Night) - Occupy a player. You cannot target the same player your twin is trying to kill. - Unlimited uses.
Smart Protector (Night) - Remove any poison or bleeding effects on your twin and occupy anyone trying to visit him. - 2 uses
Your goal is to make sure the Evil Twin achieves their goal

Guest info: You and your twin know that the Bodyguard’s Veteran Shooter ability will attack a random target.


The Time Mage

Neutral Killer
Rewind (Passive) - The first time you die by any means your class and logs will be hidden and you won’t join dead chat. You will revive in 1 day.
Time Stop (Day) - Tonight, everyone except yourself will be occupied. - 1 use
Banish (Night) - Banish a player from time, killing them. Their class and logs will be hidden. - Unlimited uses.
Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that stand in your way

Guest info: You know that the necromancer’s revived target will be secretly redirected to a random player each night.


The Time Jailor

Neutral Killer
Doomsday Clock (Day) - Poison a player. They will die in 2 days unless healed. - Unlimited uses.
Final Countdown (Day) - A player of your choice will die in 2 days. Cannot be healed. - 1 use.
Timelock (Night) - Occupy a player through immunity and prevent people from visiting them. They will also be unable to vote tomorrow. - Unlimited uses.
Time Cocoon (Night) - Prevent everyone from visiting you tonight and heal any poison or bleeding effects on yourself. - 4 uses.
Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that stand in your way

Guest info: You know that the players arrested by a Cop can escape jail by attempting to perform a night ability.


The Time Warden

Neutral Killer
Singularity (Day) - Your night abilities will bypass healing and death immunity tonight. Additionally, Vortex will also kill its target tonight. - 1 use.
Vortex (Night) - Prevent all visits on a player tonight. Anyone that tries to visit them will die. - Unlimited uses.
Black Hole (Night) - Prevent all visits on yourself tonight and heal from any poison or bleeding effects. Everyone that tries to visit you will die. - 3 uses.
Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that stand in your way

Guest info: You know that the burglar’s bomb will be transferred to whoever their target visits before it explodes.


The Exiled

Neutral Killer
Exiled Keeper (Passive) - You start the game with a free “Time shield” on night 1.
Time shield (Day) - Rewind time tonight in order to heal yourself. - 1 use.
Doomsday Clock (Day) - Poison a player. They will die in 2 days unless healed. Healing your own poison won’t trigger Time heal’s ability refund. - 1 use.
Time Heal (Night) - Heal a player. If you successfully heal them you will get 1 use of all your limited use abilities. - Unlimited uses.
Banish (Night) - Banish a player from time, killing them and hiding their class and logs. - 1 use.
Vortex (Night) - Prevent all visits on a player tonight. Anyone that tries to visit them will die. - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that stand in your way

Guest info: You know that the surgeon’s Malpractice will make them unable to heal people for the rest of the game.


The Occultist

Neutral Killer
Shroud of Darkness (Passive) - Immune to death during the first night.
Ritual of Silence (Passive) - Whenever the target of “Dark Thoughts” is successfully lynched, you will heal yourself the following night and the number of “Silence” targets will increase by 1.
Dark Whisper (Day) - Send an anonymous message to the court. - 1 use.
Silence (Day) - Select 0 players and force them to vote for a player of your choice. They won’t be able to change their vote. - Unlimited uses.
Dark Thoughts (Night) - Select a player. If that player is lynched tomorrow, the first person that voted to lynch them (besides you) will die as well. You cannot be prevented from using this ability - Unlimited uses.
Demonic Voice (Night) - Select a player. The first person they vote tomorrow will die instantly (they won’t be notified). If they vote you, the ability will fail. - 2 uses.
Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that stand in your way

Guest info: You know that the Politician will attack themselves the next night if they post a message that consists of anything else than uppercase letters with “CAN YOU HEAR ME??”.


The Martyr

Neutral Killer
Ritual of Salvation (Ritual) - At the beginning of the game you may select two players as your Ritual targets. When one of them is lynched, you will gain 1 use of both “Purification” and “Absolution”.
Purification (Day) - The target of tonight’s penitence will receive the effects of Contrition, Confession and Penance. - 1 uses.
Absolution (Day) - You may target two players with “Penitence” tonight. - 1 use.
Penitence (Night) - Select a player. The effects of this ability are different depending on how many times you have used it on the same player (whether it was successful or not). Unlimited uses.

  • First time: Contrition - Prevent all visits on both your target and yourself.
  • Second time: Confession - Occupy your target and force them to attack whoever they visit. (Has no effect on occupy immune players).
  • Three or more times: Penance - Attack the player, bypassing healing and death immunity.
    Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that stand in your way

Guest info: You know that the Spy’s “Choices, choices” can have any of the three effects listed as long as the player writes them when performing the ability. If they don’t write what they want to happen the ability will fail.


The Warlock

Neutral Killer
Ritual of Revenge (Ritual) - At the beginning of the game you may select two players as your Ritual targets. When one of them is lynched, you will gain 1 use of both “Unstoppable Onslaught” and “Rampage”.
Blood Pact (Day) - Select a player and offer them a deal. If they accept it, you will both be healed tonight. If they refuse, they will be occupied. - Unlimited uses, cannot be used on the same player twice in a row.
Unstoppable Onslaught (Day) - You will become immune to occupation and redirection and your attacks will bypass healing, death immunity and visit prevention tonight. (if used along with rampage it will only empower the attack against the main target and not its visitors) - 1 use.
Kill (Night) - Kill a player - Unlimited uses.
Rampage (Night) - Kill a player and everyone visiting them. - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that stand in your way

Guest info: You know that the Thug’s Master Plan has a 75% chance to kill one of the 3 players randomly and a 25% chance to kill themselves.


The Elementalist

Neutral Killer
Morph (Passive) - You cannot use the same night ability twice in a row.
Elemental Ritual (Passive) - At the beginning of the game you may select two players as your Ritual targets. When one of them is lynched, you will gain 1 use of “Elemental Discharge”.
Elemental Discharge (Day) - You can use all four abilities tonight. - 1 use.
Petrify (Night) - Occupy a player. You will be immune to occupation and redirection tonight. - Unlimited uses.
Ice Spike (Night) - Attack a player. Both of your ritual targets will be healed tonight, unless you are targeting one of them. (the heal doesn’t count as visiting) - Unlimited uses.
Soothing Water (Night) - Heal a player. You will also heal yourself tonight. - Unlimited uses.
Fire Rune (Night) - Players visiting your target will start bleeding and die in 1 day unless healed. Players that visit you will start bleeding and die in 1 day unless healed. - Unlimited uses.
Your goal is to defeat both main factions and any neutrals that stand in your way

Guest info: You know that the Detective’s important clue will give them information about a random bastard mechanic, but all the letters and words will be scrambled.

  1. Follow the Global Forum Rules
  2. If you haven’t posted in the thread or in your classcard for a while you will be prodded for inactivity. If you don’t respond to that prod in 24 hours, you will be force replaced.
  3. No private messaging others in the game about the game.
  4. No angleshooting. This includes any attempt to gain info about the game from external sources.
  5. Do not screenshot or quote private host messages
  6. While the nature of the game can make it easy to accidentally screw up your own faction, intentionally throwing the game is against the rules.
  7. Players are not allowed to use big letters. These are reserved for the host.
  8. Do not post in the main thread or like posts if you are dead or not in the game.
  9. Remember: its a game so have fun!

If you want to spectate, you must follow these rules:

  1. Do not share information about the game in any way.
  2. Do not post in the main thread
  3. Do not give likes to posts in the main thread
  4. If you want to discuss the game do it in the spectator chat. Any discussion outside of it is not allowed.

General:

  • Day will last 72 hours.
  • To vote for someone to lynch publicly type “/lynch”, “/accuse”, “/vote” or “/execute” and the name of the player.
  • Lynching a player ends the day early.
  • Nights will last 24 hours or earlier if all actions are submitted
  • To use an ability, type the name of the ability and the target(s) on your classcard.
  • You cannot use an ability on yourself unless stated otherwise.
  • You can only use 1 day ability per day and 1 night ability per night unless stated otherwise.
  • You can post your logs on your classcard and the latest version will be displayed when you die.
  • Mafia has a factional kill.
  • There may be up to 3 of each non-unique class.
  • This game has FoL style notifications: only investigators and certain abilities will get feedback.

About Party Guests:

  • There are classes known as “Party Guests”. These are neutral classes based on previous games I’ve hosted (Poker Mafia, Day One Mafia, Ritual Mafia and Golden Dragon).
  • Party guest class cards are hidden to the public.
  • All party guests are neutral even if the original class is not (for example, The Matriarch or The Executioner from Golden Dragon may be in the game as a neutral variation).
  • Party guest classes might be heavily changed from their original versions.
  • Depending on their win condition, Town or Mafia may need to defeat some of the party guests in order to win.
  • Some party guests may have info about some of the game’s bastard mechanics.

About the bastard mechanics:

  • There may or may not be bastard mechanics in the game.
  • There may or may not be claim vigilantes in the game.
  • There may or may not be conversions in the game.
  • There may or may not be RNG in the game.
  • Your class card and ability feedback will never directly lie to you, unless affected by player abilities like frame.
  • There won’t be any kind of “special events” started by the host.
  • There won’t be any hidden abilities (test the waters)
  • You will never be forced to write in haikus.

Town Support
First-aid (Night) - Heal a player from attacks, poison or bleeding. - Unlimited uses.
Malpractice (Night) - Cause the target player to bleed, killing them in 1 day unless healed. But be careful, you may lose your license. - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.


The Mad Wizard

Town Support
Teleport (Night) - Select two players and swap them, forcing players visiting one of them to target the other instead. Can target yourself. - Unlimited uses.
Hocus Pocus (Night) - Something magical will happen to your target. Can target yourself. - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.


The Novice Necromancer

Town Social
Death Whispers (Night) - A random dead player will be able to send you a message. You won’t know who sent it - Unlimited uses.
Revive? (Night) - Revive a player but keep in mind you haven’t mastered this spell yet. - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.


The Corrupt Mayor

Town Social
Reveal (Day) - Reveal yourself as the Corrupt Mayor and pray that people don’t remember all the scandals. - 1 use.
Bribe (Night) - Select a player. Redirect everyone trying to visit you towards said player. - Unlimited uses, can only target each player once.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.


The Loud Politician

Town Social
Campaign (Day) - Force a player to vote for a target of your choice. They cannot rescind or change their vote. - Unlimited uses.
CAN YOU HEAR ME??(Day) - Send a message to the whole court AND MAKE SURE THEY CAN HEAR YOU!- 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.


The Retired Bodyguard

Town Killer
Veteran Shooter (Day) - Shoot a player in plain daylight. Hopefully your arthritis won’t betray you this time. - 1 use.
Protect (Night) - Protect a player, giving your life to kill their attackers - Unlimited uses.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.


The Paranoid Soldier

Town Killing
Shoot (Night) - Kill a player bypassing night immunity. If you kill a member of the Town you will suicide. Unlimited uses.
Who’s there? (Night) - Shoot everyone in your room tonight. - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.


The Fast-Food Waiter

Town Offensive
Surprise! (Day) - Give a surprise meal to a player. They can choose to open it or force someone else to open it. They will never know what’s inside! - 1 use.
Serve Meal (Night) - Give a meal to a player, preventing them from performing their night ability. - Unlimited uses.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.


The Shady Salesman

Town Offensive
Sale night! (Night) - Lure a player to your store, forcing them to visit you tonight. - Unlimited uses.
"Bullet-proof" vest (Night) - Sell a bullet-proof vest to a player that prevents death once. It’s pretty cheap, but it should work. - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.


The Rookie Cop

Town Investigative
Arrest (Day) - Arrest a player tonight, occupying and preventing visits. You will be able to talk to them and execute them. Just make sure you don’t leave the key inside again. - 1 use.
Investigate (Night) - Check if a player is a member of the Mafia. - Unlimited uses.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.


The Drunk Detective

Town Investigative
Follow (Night) - Follow a player to see who visits them. - Unlimited uses.
Important Clue (Night) - You will be told a random bastard mechanic from the game. Let’s hope you remember it after the hangover. - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Mafia and any neutrals that stand in your way.

The Dumb Thug

Mafia Offensive
Offer Protection (Day) - Offer a deal to a non-mafia player. If they accept, both them and you or another member of the mafia will be healed tonight. If they refuse they will be occupied. - Unlimited uses, cannot be used on the same player twice in a row.
Master Plan (Night) - Plot a master plan that could kill up to three players of your choice. What could go wrong? - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Town and any neutrals that stand in your way.

The Forgetful Burglar

Mafia Social
Frame (Night) - Place incriminating evidence inside a player’s room, making them appear as a member of the mafia to investigators tonight. - Unlimited uses.
Bomb (Night) - Place a bomb in a player’s room, in two days it will explode killing everyone in said room. Make sure you don’t forget where you put it. - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Town and any neutrals that stand in your way.

The Indecisive Spy

Mafia Investigative
Gather information (Night) - Check a player’s class type - Unlimited uses.
Choices, choices (Night) - Select a player. You will be able to change their logs… No wait, you will make them flip as a different class… wait, you will hide their logs. Ah! so many choices! - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Town and any neutrals that stand in your way.

The Impulsive Ninja

Mafia Support
Smoke-Bomb (Night) - Prevent everyone except the mafia from visiting a player. Can target yourself. - 3 uses.
Ambush (Night) - Wait outside a player’s room, killing everyone that visits them. Remember to wait for the right moment or you could mess things up. - 1 use.
Your goal is to defeat the Town and any neutrals that stand in your way.
