starting with PKR:
I can’t really have much of an opinion on this slot unless I’m claiming Marshal is scum. And I think killing Marshal with LM as scum is so egregious that I won’t ever consider Tan and Amelia having done it.
Canta:
So fmpov canta is scum in like exactly an intensify, canta, eli team? And I think intensify/canta have been the 2 of the 3 towniest people in the game. Like I think this is theoretically a mechanically possible team comp, but it’s one I’m willing to lose to and won’t consider at this point
Marl:
I think Marl’s fool play usually comes from town in this setup where scum would be throwing away a LM holder for the sake of getting someone trusted. However, the stronger reason I believe Marl to be town and why I think they’re never scum is their extreme dissonance in play. If they were scum the goal would be to become an information funnel and control the pace of the game after sacrificing themselves. and Marl… has done the opposite of that. He’s deferred to people he strongly townreads to lead the game and base his decisions. And honestly? I really don’t think wolf Marl ever has such an inconsistent mindset when the play he’d have to be going for is one where he wants to be the one dictating the pace and flow of the game. Really don’t ever see scum Marl here.
pigeon/Arctic:
so I think the main thing with this slot is that they’ve spent the game just trying to be townie, but not actually acting like they’re a sailor. while it doesn’t have quite the confirmability of fool this is a script where the sailor is 100% confirmed good if they don’t die and pigeon never even made an attempt at that d1. having an IC is huge and if pigeon isn’t an ic then they learn that they for sure drunked someone else giving us good information. and like the large majority of their posts haven’t had any substance even if I think tone is good. like they’re just fluff.
Also Arctic has some takes here that just dramatically shift when he gets accused. Arctic doesn’t actually reconsider these points. He forms the scumteam that is most likely to be true if he is town and then goes to find reasons that we’re aligned.
Here he mentions that he thinks cloned was likely to be the scum between Eli/cloned
I actually agree with this point he makes. PKR as scum has large incentive to attempt to make a play today, whatever it mgiht be. Obviously PKR dies if he gets a red so this is somewhat flawed but this clearly shows where Arctic’s thoughts are at
and then the instant he realizes he didn’t just 100% scumslip
his worldview tightens to an exactly me/pkr/eli team (which is what he needs it to be)
and like stops actually evalutating 100%. from this point on Arctic makes no attempt to solve the game or worry that he’s wrong or do anything like that. a villager who just called cheese a likely wolf and PKR likely town would at least be very shocked if they had a revelation like this and try to actually determine people’s alignments. but instead Arctic’s play has become basically just clogging thread harassing me/PKR as being solves
Like Arctic does analyze some things at this point, but only of posts he’s cherrypicked that fit his suggested scumteam. He doesn’t attempt to actually evaluate the game as a whole.
And after this he immediately shifts discussion to who has the monster to get thread on a different discussion as opposed to actually trying to figure out wtf happened (considering his reads would’ve changed drastically in an incredibly short time if he was town)
Night:
tbh I actually think night has been pretty townie from their posts alone, I just think the narrative they were pushing at the start of the day in combination with Arctic subtly makes them probably a wolf. I also think they have almost certainly not been playing like they’re actually a CL trying to win the game. CL is often going to win with evil even NOT using their ability and Night hasn’t been playing like this at all.
particularly this post from night just really doesn’t actually feel like they’re CL. CL wants to keep options open, but they’re trying to get the narrative going that it’s either them or me and that we should kill both of us
I have a lot more thoughts but this is just gonna be a jumbled mess so I’m gonna stop here and try to make more individual posts now
