The Penance Day celebration was in full swing. The tavern was alive with celebration, and the drinks flowed like water.
“’Bout time we got a break from nightmarish demonic invasions!”
“My dear old grandma got emboweled by that horrid thing. I could use another drink.”
“Hang on, I’ll go find the barkeep. Amelia! Keep it flowin’, we’re—what the?!"
The tavern filled with a bright light as everyone shielded their eyes. When the light dissipated, they saw the ghosts of Tan and Amelia in the middle of the room as well as Wazza, looking disoriented.
“Aw, damnit, missed the intro by like twenty seconds. Amelia, you’re supposed to be dead at this point.”
The Amelia standing behind the bar, very much alive, blinked twice. Tan sighed, snapped her fingers, and Amelia went limp, falling to the floor dead. Tan turned to Wazza.
“And you… There’s always some anomaly when I do this. Go on, take a seat with everyone else.” Wazza nodded and found an empty barstool.
“As for everyone else… You know the drill. I only show up when there’s a Demon around. Little tiny abomination, you’ll know it when you see it. Anyway, happy hunting!”
Day 1 has begun! Nominations will open in twelve hours.
