Confirmed Assasin , different plan

So turn 1 we stumble on to an assasin , either some lucky investigate or a debauch gone bad .

Next step . Kill him lolo yolo yar har …

Now where are you , you no longer no who the assassin is .
1 guy is dead .
That night mm gets a new assassin , killing begins again

How about instead of killing him , put him in a box with a butler or the prince . Then set about looking for the neutral killers and mastermind .
Kill the assassin once mm is dead . Game won .

that’s a pretty cool idea. I should use that.

did that once in ToS as escort, specifically explaining that i’m keeping them from killing. eventually got hanged for defending a confirmed maf because they simply could not wrap their head around it despite me explaining it at least 4 times. nobody died for those few days

Whenever I am master mind, I claim sheriff and betray at least 2 fellow unseen throughout the game. Why? because it means I can convert again, I am confirmed, and I can accuse a member of the blue dragon and get them executed.

Now, if you find unseen through sheriff or obs or king after night 3, it is better to execute them because they may be mastermind.

The only disadvantage I can see to the strategy you suppose is

  1. a player can only be occupied 3 times, so prince will have to do it
  2. once prince has to do it, he halts his investigation.

Also with that strat you risk the posessors/reapers running train on all the BD. You slightly increase your chance of catching the MM at a small cost of stopping neutral killers.

If it seems likely there are no neutral killers or neut killers are dead then yes this would be effective.

It’s not like your investigators aren’t going to keep investigating for NK’s and stuff when he is jailed. I guess you might make it a bit harder cuz the prince isn’t helping much but still.

This strat is amazing vs Cult btw

If you can confirm CL then yes they are done for.
