Corrupt Votes FM - Day 6 (3/15) - Town wins by voting out town

Like you can say what you just said as scum.
It doesn’t change a thing.

I literally answered your question in my post

:upside_down_face:

shrug
What can I say except you’re welcome I had just gotten off of work and lugged ten-ish pounds half a mile

Also, looking at OP, it’s an 11v3 ± 1, is that actually super scumsided? asking for a friend who happens to be making a setup

I do not think that Arete is scum, just saying it now because while it could be considered easy towncred, their idea at the start of the day could backfire massively if everyone had agreed to it and I do not think I am willing to budge on that until MyLo or LyLo.

Alice is likely town siding because honestly otherwise it is just a boring free win because on these forums we would struggle with 12 v 3 yet alone 11 v 4

12v3 Mountainous is generally considered balanced but is slightly scumsided (in reality, not just in expectation), 11v4 Mountainous is incredibly scumsided even if one of the four is a lost wolf, this isn’t Mountainous but most of the mechanics favor scum (I’ve been trying to avoid pointing out ways that this is true because I don’t want to give scum ideas :upside_down_face:)

But why “obviously” .
This could be the easiest game of your life.

So 10v3 is really unbalanced?

Damn okay

10v3 is unbalanced if you have no PRs unless you’re playing with really good players, it can be balanced if you add PRs.

if you have more questions on game balance in full generality that aren’t relevant to this game can you ask in the War Room or DMs or something? I don’t want to clog up the thread

Anyways, that’s enough off-topic shit from me for now.

Stop mind-melding you nerd

okay but if you look at … everything about my actual play this game … I’m pretty clearly not

Arete ISO

Start of with a good gameplan. I especially agree with it because it’s basically a necessity unless scum wants to out themselves, which robs them of their extra vigilante nightkill. An important reminder is to watch out for people piling onto wagons at EoD, as it is highly advantageous for scum to be on the top wagon.

My thoughts exactly

Early mindmeld. It isn’t really AI, but it means that they’re thinking logically, which is a step in the right direction.

Pressure vote, although I don’t really like who it’s on. I don’t think I’ve ever seen PKR respond to pressure as scum. For example, NUF FM, called him out on his inactivity (as scum), he basically responded “doing coursework, fuck you”.

I do like this much more. Seth can’t really do shit as scum (sorry chief), so poking him and trying to force him to post is a great play by town and can sort out a slot pretty quickly. It is worth noting that Seth is trying to alter his playstyle after HPFM, though.

Arete being concerned with the meme is not such a good look, however. It feels a bit like they’re worried about upsetting people.

:+1: for reasons given earlier

Yeah, I know I didn’t quote a lot of stuff. A lot of their posts were linked together, and I didn’t bother quoting each part of the chain.

Conclusion: Comfortable townlean. We had a couple mindmeld moments, and they’re one of the only people producing content and pushing thread along.

Tentative Towncore
Arete
Insanity

Problem is there hasn’t really been enough content for me to do ISO’s on anyone else

I get Arete but out of interest, what makes you towncore Insanity?
I do not remember you saying anything about them

Here is the problem:

  1. Alice probably plays to win.
  2. Alice knows that if they are noot, they have a better chance siding with the town

So with these and this discussion here, we’ve pretty much put Alice claiming town-sided noot in the minority, because it’s a less favorable situation. Then why is she doing it?

Option 1: They are actually the noot. This is the more unlikely case in my opinion, because it would not change the fact that they are a neutral; when all scum gets rooted out, she’s going to be left all alone.

Option 2: They are scum, posing as the noot. By providing information that noot has a better chance with scum (or having scumteam members pass on that information), they lightly signal the noot to join their cause.

In both cases, Alice would be actively signalling for scum alignment. Who was involved in this discussion of balance?

Although the discussion of mechanics and balance is technically off-topic, I do not believe it lacks significance. In a world where Alice is lying, this would be noot and scum signalling to each other.

We have 3 worlds:

  1. Alice is noot telling the truth. This is unlikely, since she would know that it would not be easy to play townsided noot.
  2. Alice is noot that is not committed. Scum would try and convince noot that the scum cause is easier.
  3. Alice is scum. Then either they or their teammates would try and convince the noot.

In worlds 2 and 3, we have signalling going on; I sense 1 culprit.

/vote Arete

Excuse me but what in the flying fuck is that

I have a question

let’s say someone in a game asks you ‘is X set-up scumsided’ (you are familiar with X set-up)

how do you respond
