Yes. An effect is something that either impacts a different effect or a status. Therefor in order to be an effect it needs to be connected to statuses in some way. Thus barrier is an effect because it block effects such as conversion. We know conversion is an effect because it changes a status (class). If barrier did not stop anything that could either change a status or something that could impact something ELSE from changing a status then it would not be an effect.

Defile and frame disrupt communication by making others think someone is a certain class when they actually arenā€™t.

Special is also several of the above. Otherwise prince wouldnā€™t fit since itā€™s offensive, killer, support, and social.
