While having the default layout is nice, I have seen people who take the time to create their own custom templates. Having this feature available in the main menu would be a nice touch, and from there you can save your own custom template. As a software developer myself, I can’t see the implementation of this being too difficult, either, and it’s a huge quality of life improvement.
But is that an external program? Because if so that’s not really the same.
Cool and neat, don’t get me wrong, but not an actual feature.
I have it and don’t know how to use it. I ran it and made my custom log but it isn’t accessible ingame.
What I mean, is to take the idea of this external application and to integrate it into the game. Allow you to have a “Edit Default Logbooks” in customization options, where you’re just presented with a blank logbook. From there, you can customize your own, and save it in a preset that you can name. Perhaps even include flashy ways of accessing a player’s name as a variable and having it be inputted onto the logbook for them!
Just ideas.
You don’t need it as an in-game feature, since that program does it well enough already.
That’s a very weird sentiment.
Of all of the people that have the game, what percentage do you think have that program?
How do I use the program? I made a custom log set with it, but it’s not there when I play the game.
This is not an actual solution, and should not be treated as one. The game is advertised (and sold) to mac and linux users, not just windows users. And, from the program maker themself:
As per right now, mac and linux users do not have this, which gives an (indirect, but still) advantage to people who can make use of it.
I agree with OP. They should just add it into the game, as there is clearly demand for it. I also don’t think “people should just use this external program instead” is a good reason for why this should not be considered.
I personally don’t use this anyway, just saw it in the discord once.
I recommend using some kind of Notepad application for Mac and Linux users.
