You aren’t getting two ASIs then, as most classes have one at each 4 levels
Or you’ll be sacrificing a level at another class to get Revised Ranger 8 to get the second ASI
either way it doesn’t change things
WAIT WAIT
oh it’s right.
Sneakily leaves a stick of Dynamite in someone’s pocket
“Santa Heart Attack has no weaknesses”
Wait are Dynamite or explosives even a thing in dnd???
anyway I love how the guy’s highest class would be… Ranger.
He talks 25 languages.
What’s him by identification? A wizard? Devoted to the knowledge gods…?
No. He lives midforest with a bear pet.
Not usually but they can be (and they will be for my setting )
@Ashe wait if you can multiclass at any level it would be either a trade between getting proficiency with all weapons and armors vs expertise at one skill
Alchemic Fire is in the PHB and iirc the Artificer has it as well
It’s 50 PO for a yolobomb tho
I’d take a longbow with the sharpshooter feat over a hand crossbow any day of the week
ESPECIALLY if you’re a gloomstalker Ranger with a level in Rogue
daily reminder guys burst wizards do not fill the conjurer slot but the dps one
kthx bye
I had a strategy guide-y but it’s in portuguese
was for 3.5e but should work at 5e as well as it was about party functions
Tfw Merc and Ashe are engaging in 400 IQ high level d&d discussions
Meanwhile me: “Can you blow stuff up”
Unless you’ve got something to fill your bonus action with every turn (which hunter’s mark alone won’t), hand crossbow reigns supreme since it can benefit from sharpshooter too. That being said for singleclassed rangers get a lot more than just hunter’s mark to use with BAs so you’re right in that respect
It’s the same reason that Pole-Arm Master fighters are better than greatsword using Great Weapon Master ones, since you can take GWM with PAM anyway and you have the ASIs for that to be viable. What else is a single classed fighter going to do with their BA other than second wind and some of the worse Battlemaster maneuvers
But Hand Crossbow damage is wack
1d6 more like 1dNotworthit

I don’t like the aggroish tone but this is a good guide-y
to resume it:
Or wait is that a light crossbow
Can’t remember now, but I think I’m right
The difference in damage is average 1 from longbow lol
But you’re getting an extra attack with your bonus action so it’s a net positive if you’re not playing a resource intensive class
3/4ths of the time the damage will be the same
